Last thing is that all they have to do is create a concept of 'magic cards' which could function like credit cards and can't be used by anyone but the owner, this results in being able to carry all your gold without loosing it, effectively putting us back to square one.
So far from your previous posts and your antagonizing thread I get the feeling you are a die hard fan with blinders, which is okay. Just like the Trion forums for Rift there is someone that is desperate about a game and wants to really silence discussion in a forum.
Having you drop x% of your gold encourages ganking and discourages exploration, makes the game a closed niche and that doesn't make MMOs great again
I have watched a few of their live streams, but I am not naive to think that is set in stone. Reminds me of a lot the Star Citizen threads and makes me believe that you probably threw money into that as well as I remember people being just as hostile and defensive as you are now. But it is good to know that from this squabble we can just ignore each other from now on, as from both of our perceptions we add nothing to the discussion. Lucky for me there is a lot of mmo's out there that can replace excel in space, not really that financially/emotionally vested in video games . I will give you the last word.
@Jahlon True, but it really just takes a dump on the pver's does it not? Because if I only pvp and don't do any gathering there isn't much risk for me and so even if you killed me in defense it would not deter me. It doesn't have to be a closed niche unless there isn't any consequences for the actions we take.
Not at all.
I'll play the victim, you play the ganker.
If the only thing you get from killing me is a % of my gatherables, yes its an annoyance but its not game breaking.
So you kill me and you gain corruption and get a little bit of gatherable stuff.
Now you are walking around with this corruption taint on you. Now, to clear that you have to die.
But now say you have been making an afternoon out of killing PvErs and stealing their stuff. Now you have a lot of corruption and then Billy Bad Ass White Knight comes along and he smites you. You are going to drop a % of your gatherables (ironic) but you also have a chance to drop gear and weapons.
The other thing is that it might not be that Billy Bad Ass comes along. It might just be that another PvPer comes along, but since you've been a bad boy and you have corruption you are at a skill disadvantage
"A player's ability to function in battle is decreased as they gain more and more corruption"
Now you still die.
Even worse, when you revive, you had so much corruption that you have to die again. Maybe even 2-3 more times.
I hate ganking, but honestly I really enjoy the corruption idea and think it will make for interesting game play.
I understand the logic of it having weight, as it is another item to be carried around..
But I hate it when necessities limit the player. The same as currency taking up inventory slots, it's just yuck..
