Diverse Character Creation - The Quest for Representation, Diversification and Boobs

in this thread i will detail why i would like more change--able  TnA, fat, muscle and face sliders in ashes of creation. your probably thinking, this is a troll post and the fact he said "this is a troll post" just makes it seem like more of a troll post. or your thinking, this dude just wants to look at butts in the game. the second one may be true, but i can guarantee i have good reasons AND a topic for CIVIL discussion. just give me a chance

-diversity

once again your probably thinking, "how can sliders contribute to the game?" it will add a whole new layer of character creation to every character in the game. if it were not for character creation, everyone would look the same and all be cookie cutter characters. with more versatility, there will be new opportunities for different kinds of characters. this can also be said for hair and even eyes, which i'd like to have options for too.

-in depth character creation (could be said for all body parts)

if slider limits are raised, you could create anything you like, which is what i'd like to say is the ultimate character creation. not just butts, but muscle, fat, height and various other things. whos to say i shouldn't want to play as an obese orc? or an ultra muscular he-man?
i would also like to be able to make ugly or unattractive characters, so unlimited sliders would be nice.

-surprisingly realism

if the game can make tons of men fully built with six packs, why cant women have great bodies too? there are thousands of women AND men with large attributes and general bodies, so it will never be unrealistic to be fat or thicc. i bet if we look on this forum we could easily find a woman with a bigger butt than is being allowed (infact, someone on the last thread said they had one). and not to be disrespectful, there will be tons of obese people as well and I'd like it if you could be overweight in game too. on the topic of realism, theres even been a girl with ribs removed for a smaller waist, so nothing is out of scope.

-representation

if i were any of those people and i wanted to create a character similar to myself, i would feel left out. not only that, but for the sake of "realism" they cant be themselves? just watch a rap music video, go on instagram, you've found real people with great bodies.
which is why i'd also like to be a super muscular female too.

-there doesnt HAVE to be skimpy outfits (but there can be)

maybe your assuming that characters will be wearing skimpy outfits, i dont really know how armor will look in the game, but not every outfit has to be skimpy. there will always be outfits that make sense to be skimpy or fully armored (a dancer or a front lining tank) or there will be times when developers throw in bikinis in the cash shop. personally, i think both would be great to have.

-boobs and butts

lets be honest, i cannot be the only person in the world who wants them, and i cant be the only person in the world who loves to make different characters every time
and, lets be real, it will attract more people to play. bad character creations with little options ruin games for me.

so my question is, why not?

if you reply, please dont be rude or mean :(  im just a guy who likes making characters.

i had to do it. for my family
  • If I can customize the teeth of someone in the WWE character creation. There can be boobs and butt sliders in this game.

We already know there's a boob slider. They should go the route and make the character creation as detailed as humanly possible. This is a game where you HAVE to create a character. It's not like other games where you can just play a story character. Your character is your identity, it makes a huge difference on how detailed they are. Want big boobs? You can have them. Want a ripped 7'0 dude that's 0% body fat. All yours. Like the valiant knight Sir Mix A lot said, "I don't want none unless she got buns hun" Right before he was eaten by a giant anaconda if my memory serves me right.

I don't know why everyone is hating on a curvy woman?
  • H cup or no party or guild invite!
  • This post is not what I thought it would be
  • I'm with Daedal here. This is a game where you are up to create a character, so there should be a certain amount of possibilites, to really fit the character to ones needs/likings. Whatever that may be.
How about a mixed way of "creating" your character? Like you have a lot of possibilities to create your base-character the way you want it (small, tall, slim, obese, huge arms or spider legs...) but only for the body and hair - kinda like a "basic look". Then have the rest "earned" through ingame "rewards". Lets imagine you find an old woman in the forest, who does ritual tatoos. Or a hair-stylist in a special town created a really special set of hairdos. Or a master tailor (player) is able to craft some very special accessoires or clothes for dinner parties and feasts. Or you enjoy to walk around, dressed like a bum. Why not steal old clothes from ... some farmers clothesline?

I mean like you just create the very body schema and customize it to your likings from stuff you find in your journey.

You want a tatoo on top of your bald head? Go find a tatoo-artist, that does your kind of thing...

Would be another (good) reason to wander the world with open eyes and make it more ... vivid. Wouldn't it?
  • I would be fine with freedom of choice, but just leave the skimpy outfits out of the game.

People fighting in skimpy outfits would break the immersion just like a chicken costume would.
  • Bikini armor should be realistic if they decide to add it. +1 armor lol
  •  Like the valiant knight Sir Mix A lot said, "I don't want none unless she got buns hun" Right before he was eaten by a giant anaconda if my memory serves me right.
i agree with everything you have said, but this is my favorite part.

What about a Witch? It would make sense for a young beautiful witch to have a skimpy outfit. In fact, most young, attractive witches are portrayed in skimpy outfits.

Also while we're on the subject. Being able to choose between old and young characters is important too (no ****'s!) but having some old grizzled vet...or some young priestess is also variety. Not everything needs to jiggle like BDO but if you're going the route of realistic graphics and want to be the best MMORPG then it should be as good as if not better than BDO...which they said it would be as good as BDO, I'll temper my expectations but I do have a certain standard when you say that.

I wouldn't expect that witch to have a bunch of +armor though, so I think it still applies.
  • If you were to duel an archer or a swordsmaster would you go with a swimming suit or clothes that have protective covering?

Im expecting the clothing to be reasonable and something along the lines we have in apocalypse testing.
  • i wonder if its possible for a dev to actually see this thread

    I agree,

Having a player customize their character to a great degree creates a sense of ownership. That sense of ownership will not only be good for player retention, but the sense of character building(such as the case with DnD).

Personally, I would like to see the ability to create all manner of characters. From fat and/or big-boned like Xu Chu(Dynasty Warriors 8 XL) to short, lanky, and of course... average. Though staying within the realms of realism should be enforced, as having little tiny characters the size of rats running around just seems... game breaking.

    Cheers!

the real question is, do they care and are they willing to accept this threads advice?

of course they care but don't expect any changes
  • Bone slider? Some people are big boned. Others not so much.

Going by the image you provided. The answer is 'there is nothing'
  • I wonder why some people get more upset when theres options to be "big" than when there are options to be "small"

    What's your definition of small?

  • I have no problem with this. Dwell on these words...
    ROLE PLAYING GAME!

How can you play a role if you are not given the functional tools to mimic that role nor the cosmetic looks to mimic that role ?

Even bikini armour I dont really have a problem with..... 'as long as the functional reality matches the aesthetic choice. No armour rating !'

There is a time and a place for everything and no doubt the right clothing for the right  occasion......or lack of for that matter. But you cant play those roles if you 'dont have the tools to do so'.
  • To put it simply,  BDO set the standard for character creation in an MMORPG. Now with games like soul caliber or WWE, character creation has so much depth to it that if you can't spend 30-60 minutes changing a character then it lacks depth. Whether AoC wants to be or not, it'll be compared to other MMORPG's. The last thing you want is when you first go to create a character it lacks depth. That is somewhat of a first impression. They said it'll be on par with BDO so I'll remain optimistic and wait until I see it first hand (which I think will be available in December? ). They haven't really disappointed me yet, so as long as they continue to deliver I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that it'll be an amazing character creation.
  • I like the comments above regarding a lot of freedom in creation of our characters.

But I would like to make a suggestion that would make it all mean more.  In order to see the environment and incoming threats, it is common to scroll out as much as possible.  As a result we end up seeing very little of the facial and other details of characters.

I would enjoy having a pop-up window show a close-up view of the character(s) we are speaking with.  The pop-up should be optional, so we can turn it off.  But it would also be nice to be able to turn it on.  For example, when we are in a tavern planning an expedition or (since weddings are in the game) when we are with our spouse.  Perhaps the windows could be scrolled down to show details below just the head and face.....

If we had that ability to really see the different players' character creations, it would make it all mean that much more.

  • I want to be able to give my MALE character a...ahem...big, fat, thicccc, juicy butt WITH jiggle effect. I want that butt to be allll over my screen. Where's my equality!

    sounds like heresy to me
