Will summoners have the ability to equip their pets with items?

Example: If Necromancers had skeletons could they equip Weapons/Armor or would there be pet specific charms or something?

Can we expect to see progression oriented group level content? One of the things I found enjoyable in the past is when new content releases, it wasn't all instantly available / killable. You had to work your way through various content, using it to upgrade yourself for more challenging content ahead. Is this a paradigm we can expect to see in AoC?
