With the nodes aesthetics being influenced by racial contributions during its development, who knows what these nodes could look like assuming Tulnar have an influence like the returning races to Verra.
Even if it isnt canon, it wont stop the furries lmao
To be fair we somewhat know what a tulnar looks like.
in the second "tales of the homecoming" video we kind of meet one.

I don't want to pretend I know exactly, but both cases look quite clear to me when you think about it.
There are at least 2 reasons why Steven mentioned furries. Firstly, He didn't want tulnar to be labeled as Furries because that would make negative impact on whole race.
Secondly, such term would be too simplistic and inaccurate. It's like saying "werewolves are just furries"
As a creator, Steven sees much more in it.
I'm not sure If you can make drow. Because when it comes to look, they're elves with different skin color. Something resembling drow, perhaps.
Imagine triangle with human, furry and lizardman in each corner. I suppose tulnar can be anything in between and that is safe assumption. Detailness is the real question.
One thing I'd like to confirm is possibility of making hybrid between lizard and "furry". I have something badass in mind.
Plants and Mushrooms will burn. Don't worry about it.
I also thought it said the three core races not human/fur/lizard. Leads me to believe I could choose elf frame as my base, then change skin tone and do minimal animal anything.
Honestly I'm excited to play around with it and see what I can make...
Granted if it's all terrible I won't mind a renkai tank or pyrai summoner. I just refuse to ever use a human.
I wish luck for us both.
It's not hate it is jealousy mostly from the pointy eared freaks.
It should be considered a mild form of insanity to release a race that has more customization options than any other race and just assume your player base will be okay with it.

pot calling the kettle black.
goodness.
I know, right?
That's why I thought everyone will go straight to tulnar in character creation.
I mean, as much as I am on the kill all Tulnar train. I would be lying if I thought I was not going to at least look at them before making my main.

Know thine enemy.
I think cat people were actually confirmed.
sure not mine...
lamia > all
😂🤣😂
Lamia tail would cause a hell of a lot of problems with armor design.
You might play an orc/troll or a dwarf goblin it all depends on what are the minor races stayed in the underrealm
A Dork.
They said no furries
Fixed that for you. You're welcome.
They said "Tulnar do not equal furries". What just mean creators don't think it's the same. And even after that quote "but" appeared. So trust me, If I say there will be some kind of furries, there most likely will, even though I cannot prove it.
I hope that "major race base" only applies to overall shape like size, mass ect. Personally I've never liked vampires but I wish well for all RPG aspirations. If vampires appear in AoC then not as a part of caracter creator. TESO made it possible via quests for both vampire and werewolf so maybe this way.
I'm 100% sure when Steven was asked about it, he said no furry races, and since ppl these days consider races with any fur being furries, its more than likely that no furry races means no such features. Also, doubt cat races would even live underground.
This race's whole concept relies heavily on animalistic features (fur, scales, muzzles, tails). Steven confirmed each of these things.
"Tulnar do not equal furries, but there are definitely some bestial components that you can scale up when you're creating your Tulnar character, so you could max that setting I guess. Whether or not that would give you what you would think of as a furry, I guess it's going to be up to your interpretation of what a Furry is." – Steven Sharif.
Also, :
- "There are feline and bestial components"
- "Mammalian Tulnar may have snout features, fur and inverted knees."
- "Reptilian Tulnar may have more circular eyes and head shape, and scaly skin."
