With the direction Windows seems to be heading to, ...SNIP... , I definitely wouldn't mind AoC on Linux. (You have my soft weak vote)

If Linux grows at the same steady rate over the next 5 years as over the last 5 years, it will be around 6%, at the end of 2028... 12% if you include ChromeOS, which is moving towards being a more general purpose OS over time, and is already able to run the Linux version of Steam/Proton etc... at least on Intel based devices.

It's understandable that software houses don't want to support multiple platforms, but it becomes easier if you view "Proton" as just another "version" of Windows... kinda like the difference between Windows 7 and Windows 10/11 etc...
  • You can technically play other mmorpg's on steamdeck like wow, new world, eso etc. I've seen the evidence on youtube.

I have many videos of me running Wow on Linux between 2006 and 2008

Personally, I'm hoping that EAC for this game is linux-enabled by October next year as I'm one of those planning on switching to it rather than be forced to Windows 11...

Another week of not being able to figure out the EAC install. Still having same issue of when i get to the screen of installing the EAC from the launcher keeps taking me to the repair or remove installed and nothing happens after that is anyone else besides me having these issues or find a work around for this issue?

I have been gaming on linux for last 3+ years, even played Ashes in previous test phases. Its sad to see so many defending stance against Linux, when actual amount of work needed nova days to support gaming on linux is so little.

Just for example i have played most popular titles that officially don't support Linux, but game is played on Linux:

    Guild Wars 2 worked great
    Throne and Liberty worked great
    Diablo 4 worked great
    Path of Exile worked great

the list goes on and on, you can check other titles yourself here https://www.protondb.com

But this kind of ignorance and bias would put me off Ashes for real.
