Track the gold lost by others based on the repair costs for their gear upon being killed. This would aid in determining the bounties placed on individuals, facilitating payments to PvPers during wars, assisting nodes in hiring mercenaries, and so forth
PvE means: A handful of coins and a bag of boredom.
  • FlankerFlanker Member, Alpha Two
If I recall correctly, it won't be gold that is required to repair gear, it will be materials. Not sure whether it will be possible to make such system, to be honest

I would change the class system. The more I find out about it, the less excited I am for it. Im not really sure how I would fix or replace it, but im not too happy with Stevens comments on how (little) the secondary class augments the primary class.

  • Freehold scarcity. Doesn't fit the narrative of recolonization.
The girl watched the last of the creatures die and murmured a soft 'Thank you' to her rescuer.

The stranger's eyes lifted to the blood red cloud on the horizon.

'We have to move. It's not safe here.'

Personally, I would worry about it, if it wasn't possible to purchase it from other players.
Also, some freeholds will require local node currencies, not gold. This will allow more players to compete for them

Its a minor thing and tbh its WoW's fault for it but i don't like that mounts go into you're bag i personally would like a window to open up and just click on one from a list of all the mounts i have collected.

If I go by 'stuff that was originally outlined', then nothing, it's all basically flawless and excellent, and just needs whatever tweaking/brainstorming to work right.

If I get to go with my gut instinct regardless of actual evidence of something 'bad', then I'd definitely change back from 'Glint' and 'Commodities' to a proper system of drops and materials.

Haha I feel you. The first time I saw it, I was like "what the hell is that?". But then I learned more and at this point it looks like a pretty decent system

I've never really been a fan of transmog gear. I'd prefer that your character gear appearance is always the same as what you are actually wearing at the time.

I would remove any "colorful" Effects of Classes like Hunters or Tanks, Fighters, etc.

Instead, i would give them more like "blurry Impacts/SHOCKwaves" when they hit hard or when this "Rapid-Fire Ability" hits. Something that shows :

" Ohhh there is something heavy hitting going on there. " - but nothing glowy and colorful would go on. This should be completely reserved for magical Classes. Bard, Mage, Healer, Summoner, etc. ;)

Depends on the gear I guess. When I played New World, my character looked so ugly that I literally had to buy a skin for the first time in my life

Add more versatility to mage. Spoken about this before. But I've played MMO's where all mages have focused on elemental spells. Wanted something different I guess. I hope the different archetypes changes my mind though, i either want to be this mage focusing on light or dark magic.

I'd separate crafting from housing. I don't like, that at highest levels, we have to choose one or the other.

    Allow full progression in both

  • Most defiantly armor. Most of weapons too.

    1. Robes are too stuck to the model. Some of them are suppose to be loose and layered and its like their concept artists never saw a wizard robe in their life. They are also scared to cover things up which makes things boring. Like, for example, they are afraid to cover wristband with a robe sleeve. Everything needs to be on display.

    2. Some artists that are working on a plate armor are trying to get their ''cool factor'' by simply adding glowing eyes or some effects on armor and call it a day. Its a lazy design.

    3. Same goes for spikes. You can just randomly insert some of them and call it a day. Giantslayer Banded Armor is amazing though. Why? Because it has a theme with the spikes. Its not like Protectors Armor where two random spikes protrude from your head.

    4. They are going for realistic armor but at the same time they are trying to re-invent the wheel. I get it, you want to make some of the knight armor look usable in real life, but all you do is messing up but creating this power ranger villain looking things. LOOK at this silly thing.
    https://www.artstation.com/artwork/wJnx26
Don't get me wrong, this artist and the one who designed this has done an amazing job with mounts. They just suck when it comes to knight armor.
There are soooooo many helmets irl that you could literally copy/paste and nobody would care. In fact, I think ppl would even like it more.
Just to name the few: visored barbute, armet, aventail, barbute, bascinet, close helmet, Coppergate Helmet, Coventry Sallet, enclosed helmet, falling buffe, frog-mouth helm, germanic boar helmet, great helm, kettle hat, lamellar helmet, Norman helmet, Sugarloaf helmet, Morion, Sallet, Shorwell helmet, turban helmet........

So many options and they chose a slit with mustard yellow glowing eyes and a skeleton hands.

    5. Some armor doesn't fit their irl world references. Tier 5 Kaelar armor has that specific helmet that could only be found on Eastern armor. No consistency on cultural inspiration.

    6. General problem of bending topology of the armor when character is breathing or moving. Mostly because everything on the armor seems like its glued together.

    7. Some weapons are either overdesigned or underdesigned. There is no golden middle.
Greatsword will have this bizarre looking overdesigned shaft and guard and then there is this weirdly shaped blade that is just a plank of metal.
One handed hammers have a very thing and long grip, but the head is just this oversized block of metal.

8.All of the armor have this very odd assembly line look, like they just came out of factory and not being man made. Like perfect angular pieces of metal with no dents and no beveled edges.

    9. All armors have the same type of decoration. Mostly floral ones. ROSES EVERYWHERE! So many types of embroidery, etching, reliefs to take inspiration from in this world and thats all they can come up with.

All the things mechanics and gameplay wise is amazing and this is probably the only thing that might keep me away from the game.

I don't want to grind for an ugly gear.

I am still sceptical regarding the freehold system and I am fairly certain that the intertwined freehold and crafting system is going to hurt the crafting- and casual population to the point where the game will feel empty.

That said, I obviously do not know if that ll be the case, and I very much hope I am wrong. I am just worried because if AoC has nothing to offer the casual/crafter communities then my friends and family wont stick around, which inevitably means I'll have to follow them to another game. x'c

  • I don't know enough about the game yet but I'm worried the only gameplay might be pvp so the entire communities I play with wouldn't stick around. That in mind, I'd add some sort of pve and building or crafting mechanics to increase caravan frequency, hp and speed as a means of including their gameplay preference.

I'd need to know what WILL be in the game before I decide what I'd want to change. Otherwise there's a ton of stuff that I'd prefer or want, but got no clue if it will or will not be in the game.

Turn corruption into a viable "outlaw" gameplay style rather than a mere PK deterrent system, with bounty hunting being a big part of the game (maybe allow BHs to port to the area of corruption, with limits of course). This means no corruption stat dampening, corrupted players free to defend themselves/fight back against greens without gaining extra corruption if they win (or greens simply turning purple if they attack red), no gear drop RNG so that you can be corrupted in your best gear, ability to trade/stash stuff in some outlaw areas, etc. while leaving other penalties in place.

I don't like my armor too shiny and perfect.

I would also like to know more about clan wars. If I war a clan can they decline to accept? I hope not. In L2, if you declared war, and the opposing clan did not accept, 5 pvp kills would trigger acceptance of the war for both sides. This needs to happen or clan wars are kinda pointless.

So the thing I probably care most about is Tulnar so depending on their design, it might be that.

After Tulnar, probably would be combat. I'd prefer full "action," and probably make the combat a little closer to what we saw in the BR and combine it with elements of TERA, BDO, GW2, and.maybe Darkfall.
