I've read that. But it's clear that there's no real risk to loose nothing when attacking Caravans. You can murder and steal and the worse that can happen is you to not earn as much gold if you do sell the goods on the black market.
Making the system in that way will make impossible to people that hasn't a hundred friends ingame to escort him with the caravan to do this kind of content.
Depending on what Types of People You are allied with - > if you steal Ressources/Goods from a Caravan, you might have a nice Supply You could give to others which could use them.
What i personally think might be **** however - is if You all are in the same Node and one Group of Citizens steal from another Group of the same Citizens.
This is the only way i could think of Player-Caravans being assaulted in a rather stupid manner.
There is Power in Numbers, oh Yes ... ...
... ... but You can also send out "Decoy-Caravans" which are empty - and guarded by just enough People to let it look like an actual Caravan.
While the Caravans with the real, meaty Treasures and Ressources inside take another Route - and/or are guarded by more People ... ...
It is indeed always good to have many People guarding them. But there are a few more Options than just that.
