I am getting this exact same problem, with close to the same PC specs. was worried it was a problem with my PC because i had a similar crashing issue on Overwatch 2 recently. Anyone have any luck with changing settings or files to get into the game?

Keep getting a black screen after 1-5 minutes of playing. Can still hear the games audio but am not able to issue any commands, as far as I can tell, and am forced to hard reboot my PC. This has happened every time I have attempted to play today. I have been around Lions Hold every time.

Attaching one dump file, I have many more if you need.

    Laptop
    Processor 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700HX 2.10 GHz
Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable)
Display Adapter Nvidia 4770m 16gb VRAM
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

    Solutions I've tried:
-Reducing all settings to low, except V-sync and Smooth Shadows enabled
    -several different versions of drivers
-Enabling Vsync, turning off AA + non-critical services, trying different power management settings, capping max frame rate @ 60fps, in Nvidia Control Panel
-Using a secondary monitor, using dedicated 4070 graphics card
    -setting custom page memory levels
-Tried editing TDRDelay and TDRddiDelay in Registry

Might be vram leak, or maybe too much power consumption.
The best part about mmos is the friends you make along the way.

My game repeatedly crashes around 5 - 10 minute mark. PC goes into black screen and becomes unresponsive, still able to hear audio but "no signal" on monitor. Needed to do a hard PC reset every time it crashes. Crash log file states "GPU Crashed or D3D Device Removed" at the end

Steps done to resolve it :
    Reinstalled AOC fully
    Updated BIOS and GPU drivers
Turned down all settings to low/disabled all effects
    Vsync on/off

Done all above but still crashes. Able to play other high end games with no issues. CPU & GPU temps are normal

    PC Specs :
    Intel i7 13700K
    32GB Ram DDR4-3600
    RTX 3080

    Specs
    • CPU - Ryzen 5 1600X 3.6GHz [Default settings] // I'm more awake now and now see that the min spec for CPU is higher than I remember. Ryzen 5 2600 is whats listed... so this might be my problem but a cursory CPU benchmark comparison puts them roughly equal to each other in performance (~1-3% in favor of the 2600)
    • GPU - Radeon VII [Default settings], Driver Version
      23.19.21.01-240819a-407052C-AMD-Software-Adrenalin-Edition
    • RAM - 32GB DDR4 [Default settings]
    • Windows 10 64-bit
    • TdrDelay and TdrDdiDelay set to 60 seconds

Issue: Game crashes shortly after logging into the server.
No problem in the main menu. Once connected to the server the game looks and performs normally for around 5s to approx 1-2 minutes before crashing. Game is currently set to minimum graphics and 1080p. The crash report panel shows nothing of assistance and I have no idea how to read the crash dump myself. When launching the game I am told my Graphics driver is out of date but thats more a limitation of the card as I have the latest driver from AMD available to me.

    Game Location: Starting area

    Steps to replicate
    1. Launch game
    2. Select character/server and log in
    3. Exist

Full crash dump file available on request (its almost 3 GB). Let me know if there is anything else. I believe I SS all the relevant info.

How long were you online? 25 mins
Where in the game were you at when this happened? taking on shamans to the north east of lionhold
Are there any steps you can take to reproduce the issue consistently? just being online and actively playing

2 screens just go black, I need to restart and then repair install from a downloaded launcher after the GPU crash.

GPU logs enabled but cannot see any logs relating to GPU written

Experiencing the Black Screen // Monitor Unresponsive issues. Audio is still working and I can even still talk to my pals in discord when it happens. Only way I can fix it is to hard restart my computer.

How long were you online? At first, every 10-15 minutes caused the blackout. I turned everything down to low, swapped to window mode, reduced resolution, and turned most other settings off if I could. This let me play for about 1.5hrs until it happened again.
Where in the game were you at when this happened? First few times I was right outside of Samia's Hope. After reducing settings, it happened to me east of Nik'brae Ruins and south of Highwaymen Hills.
Are there any steps you can take to reproduce the issue consistently? I'm unsure if there is a set of actions I am doing that cause it to happen.

    Windows 11 PC
    NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090

    Is there is resolution ?

    Thank you

I am seeing a crash every time I try to launch the game. The screen goes dark like it is launching the game from the client, but then it crashes.

    Specs:
    13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900K 3.00 GH
    64.0 GB (63.7 GB usable)
    ASUS NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090
    Samsung UltraWide Neo G9 Pro

    Q&A:
    How long were you online?
Unable to get online with the game. These crashes are happening when I try to launch the game from the client.

Where in the game were you at when this happened?
At the client. The game crashes when I try to "Launch Game" from the client.

Are there any steps you can take to reproduce the issue consistently?
Yes. This occurs every time I try to click the "Launch Game" button in the client.

exactly same PC and same SPECS here

Hey guys, i solved my problems. Turned out i had a faulty RAM (yes, for real). Cant really hurt you, to check your memory, as it takes maybe 10 minutes and then you know. Just google for MemTest86

I tried to play ashes of creation on Nov/08/2024; downloaded client, installed the game, started it up, selected new server NA, made a character, and pressed play.

game crashed at %5 of loading screen

that was my first time experience. which isn't too bad for an alpha game.

But now, my computer turns on and doesn't display. my monitor says no display then goes black.

I spent all day trying to get it working again.
-reseeded the ram, multiple times in different variances.
-pulled out the power supply and tested it, seems to work.
-pulled out my video card to see if it could use the onboard display port, still just black screen.
-removed all the wires to the mother board and pull out the cmos battery. put it all back together and still nothing.

    R.I.P

    motherboard: Asus Prim Z790-P
    graphic card: Geforce RTX 4090 - 24GB GDDR6x
    processer: intel core I9-13900KF
ram: Corsair Vengeance DDR5 ram 32GB
    power supply: Corsair RM 1000e

One of the saddest days ever, due to the fact, I was extremely hyped for this game for years.
    Then, to lose everything.

I have a solution, I have to set everything to LOW and turn off v-sync, turn off DLSS, turn off reflect latency, turn off everything+all LOW and the game works without a problem...

Now I'm trying to turn on the individual boxes one by one to find out which one is causing the black screen

it's strange, I can play other mmorpg,AAA games at maximum details without a problem.

I am not having crash issues but i am having big performance hits when i want to run programs like obs along side Ashes. So i wanted to share what i did to solve this issue and i have been able to run ashes smoother then before while also replay recording with obs in background now.

    I run:
windows 10 64bit and GPU 4060 8GB Vram (this is maxed from launch of game till i quit it, no matter where i am in the game with lowest settings)

after updating bios to latest, and chipset drivers, it yielded little improvement
Nvidia profile imspector Load limiting and all that stuff also changed nothing

Biggest improvement was in settings>system>display>graphics settings. I found the Ashes launch exe and set it to power saving rather the allowing the system to default it to performance or something.
since this change ive been able to handle a lot more programs outside of the game along side it with minimal performance hit.

the path to the file you need is in the screenshot on whatever drive you saved it to.

    7okoad8qifke.png

i really hope this can help others in this cruel battle! GL to all solving their issues
  • Try disabling XMP on your ram settings in bois. I know it's its a pain, but it's not looking thr new ram that had been pumped out.

I can play on my laptop as it's a different ram Module ect. But my laptop is struggling on low RTX 2070 on the laptop.
    The PC is 3080.
I believe it doesn't like when you update the bois which I have on the PC. The company needs to match the updates thats are applied to the PC drivers or else this issue is going to be around for a very long time

I even send my System to checkup after Interpid told me its my System.

We are here to report Issues and Crashes and all i get as response its your system?
One of my Guildmembers lost there 3070 to the Game, i have the problems above but was still able to play by ignoring all windows messages XD. Some ppl play with 2080 some cant play with 2080?
So where is the Point Interpid?

I really like the state of Game, but telling ppl wo try to help, its about there system is not the way to go.

Sry if my english is bad, its not my main language.

I get that for many this is a GPU issue, but is there any chance some of you on Intel are running into this long standing bug with 13th/14th gen processors?

(Sorry, I should have paid more attention to the earlier pages but some of the symptoms described seem to fit exactly. Nvidia's response to try lowering the performance core ratio might see some success for those affected if the chip is not already damaged.)

Guys, if you have a 13 or 14 series Intel CPU, this is very most likely related to that and not your VRAM as it makes it sound. I hope this message reaches enough people, but if this sounds like your case then the only solution that will work reliably is to update your motherboard's BIOS. Flashing that will almost certainly fix the issue (for those with the appropriate CPU).
