Re: Fix this crap before more people leave!
this has become nothing but timers.. your friends are having trouble finding legendary mats because EVERYONE has a phone full of timers.. mmos like this are sweaty min/max games.. players that come to games like this try to get any advantage they can to min/max.. its got to the point where you cant do anything but rush timers or your not progressing as fast as others. one legendary braidwood adult tree can be worth half gold cap.. one tree is worth more then most players entire accounts ( probably ) if your not just running around filling your phone with timers your not winning at the end of the day. why spend 2 hours running a risky caravan?? you could have gained 5 timers in that time and just came back making 50x the gold for the day with no risk. MY LIFE IS NOTHING BUT TIMERS, PLEASE STEVEN STOP THE MADNESS AND SAVE ME!

Good News for Ashes of Creation and Controller Users (Elecom 24 Button MMO Controller+Joy2Key=Succes
Hello Ashes of Creation and Controller enjoyers.
I wanted to share some good news regarding my experience successfully using a controller with Ashes of Creation.
In my experience it is possible to play Ashes of Creation on a controller and play it well.
I am using the Elecom JC-DUX60BK USB 24 Button MMO Gamepad Black (https://www.amazon.com/ELECOM-Controller-Buttons-Memorize-JC-DUX60BK/dp/B01NBKEGOX?th=1) as my controller and Joy2Key (https://joytokey.net/en/purchase) for the emulation software.
This was around $40.00 when I bought it and I spent a few dollars for the protection plan.
Unfortunately, it appears that its price has gone up, probably due to tariffs, and it’s now closer to $50.00 and the protection plans have gone up accordingly.
My Elecom Controller appears to be well made, comfortable and easy to use. I actually plan on buying a second one in the near future as a backup.
Because be aware that there is about a month wait on the controller as it’s being shipped directly from Japan. Although mine arrived early in less than 3 weeks.
The controller comes with it’s own programming software but it’s in Japanese and unfortunately I am not proficient in Japanese.
So instead I’m using Joy2Key to program my controller. Joy2Key is shareware but you can buy a license for $7.00 if you want to support the developers.
Joy2Key is simple and easy to use. When you plug your controller in you should have a red light under the profile on your controller. Open Joy2Key and press a button. You’ll notice that a line in Joy2Key application lights up. Program whatever you want the key to be and make sure that whatever that is matches the in game keybinding. Repeat and have fun.
Personally I bound my skills to 1-0 and then two other keys. Then I programmed the second skill bar to be the same plus shift and the third skill bar to be the same plus control.
Here’s my keybindings but it is specific to what I programmed into the game and Joy2Key:

Your’s will probably be specific to you.
But if you want to see what’s possible with this controller checkout this Reddit post from a FFXIV player (https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comments/pvgxa9/24_button_gamepad_for_ffxiv_basic_review_and_setup/) who has programmed it with much more in depth than mine.
So far I have no problems with the controller. But there is a learning curve if you’re not used to using so many keys, as I am.
I have had a few issues at points where I couldn’t go in and out of action mode but I think that may partly been a bug present in the game. The other part, is really one of the only shortcomings that I can think of about using this controller, or any, with Ashes of Creation. Remember that we are emulating a mouse and keyboard so you’re actually moving the cursor of your mouse. In my experience you’ll want to try and keep that cursor in the middle of the screen because it appears if you’re at the edge of the screen you can’t turn further. Also, during combat, you’ll want to minimize any unnecessary parts of your ui, for me, my chat and quests, because your cursor can get stuck in or on them which can prevent you from moving, aiming and usually happens at the most inconvenient times and could result in an unfortunate xp debt.
This isn’t a perfect solution but, with the small annoyances and shortcomings that I have outlined above, it’s solidly like around 95% of the way there.
I think that the only thing that could improve upon it is in game controller support, which I hear has been confirmed. I do hope so because, to the devs, using controllers isn’t always just a preference. I have a shoulder injury and a friend of mine is in his seventies and we both find mouse and keyboard to not be an option for us.
But until in game controller support comes, in my opinion, here’s a suitable solution to play on a controller and when/if it does come you will be prepared to enjoy it fully.
FYI-This is only my experience. So do your own research and use at your own risk. Have fun!
Sincerely,
Ghost

Suggestion with Ammo/hunt/marks
It seems like 99% of ranger builds only ever use one Ammo/Hunt it might be worth combining these on the skill tree and have a + skill (the ones u can choose 1 of muiltipul skills) like the other classes get where you just pick one of the 3 options instead of having 3 spread out across the tree. This would free up more space on the tree for other useful skills.
Same can be done with marks since they share cooldowns they dont realy use muiltipul marks (i run 2 but i use 1 99% of the time over the other) you could then make siphoning regeneration be a passive u can take after selecting one instead of being independent since u require a mark to use and atm u can take it without taking a mark if for some reason u dont take a mark lol
I personaly would have the + Hunt skill in the lvl 1-7 sections then ammo in the 8-17 secontion i think it is then mark in the 17-25 section with siphoning regeneration be a passive line off the + box skill
kinda like this

then add some extra skills options to the tree cause we have very little atm compared to other classes like mages have 17 active skills, clerics 15, fighters 15, rogues like 17 or something and rangers get what like 10 atm

LORE: THE GENESIS OF THE GODFORGED
Long before the exodus to Sanctus, in the earliest days of Verra's creation, the ten deities of the pantheon imbued their qualities into a single race known as The Ancients. This act was intended to grant them stewardship over all of creation. However, the Ancients grew proud and power-hungry, leading to a schism within the pantheon. Three of the gods, known as The Others, broke away and began teaching the Ancients the secrets of the Essence, including its darker applications. This betrayal sparked a great celestial battle. The seven remaining gods defeated The Others and banished both them and the Ancients to the Void.
Realizing their mistake in creating a single race with all their qualities, the Seven decided to split those attributes into four new races: Humans, Elves, Orcs, and Dwarves. Each race was placed in different regions of Verra. However, the echoes of the celestial conflict and the actions of the Ancients did not fade completely.
---
The Awakening of the Godforged
In the intervening ages, the Essence, a metaphysical energy that flows through the planes of existence, became the lifeblood of Verra. Souls acted as conduits for this Essence, allowing magic to be wielded. The gods, masters of the Essence, had an almost perfect ability to manipulate it, while mortals, through their "mortal coils" and use of magic, could mold their souls to better facilitate the flow of Essence.
But in their exile, the Ancients learned to manipulate the Essence through corruption—a negative aspect of this energy that perverted nature and created monstrosities.
---
The Fall and the Exodus
When the Ancients returned to Verra via comet-like celestial bodies called Harbingers, they sought to corrupt and pervert the creation of the gods. The ensuing apocalypse forced the races of Verra to flee to Sanctus through divine gateways. Before the exodus, the four races formed an alliance called The Lightpact to try and subvert the ambitions of the Ancients and their followers.
---
The Godforged: Bearers of Divine Purpose
As the people of Verra settled on Sanctus, a world devoid of magic, the memories of their old home and the events that led to the fall began to fade into myth. Yet the Essence still flowed, and the call of Verra could still be heard by those with the will to hear it. This is where the members of the Godforged come in.
- The Forging: Each member of the Godforged is born with a unique connection to the Essence, a spark of divine potential that sets them apart. It is said that during the creation of Verra, the gods foresaw the return of the Ancients and the need for powerful beings to stand against them. They imbued certain souls with an extraordinary affinity for the Essence, making them both strong wielders of magic and vessels of divine will.
- The Call: The members of Godforged were brought together by a shared sense of destiny, a feeling that they were meant for something greater than the mundane life on Sanctus. They were drawn back to Verra by the opening of the divine gateways, not just as explorers but as individuals with a critical role to play in shaping the world's future. They heard the call of Verra's suffering and knew that they were meant to be its saviors.
- The Purpose: The Godforged do not seek power for its own sake. They understand that the Essence is a tool that can be used for both good and evil. They strive to master their control over it and to be the protectors of Verra from the corrupting influence of the Ancients and the Others. They will use their divine gifts to help rebuild and protect Verra from the Ancients' corruption.
- The Guild: The members of the Godforged know that their individual strength is multiplied when united. Their collective power and devotion are necessary to stem the tide of corruption, to find and protect ancient artifacts, and to rebuild a society that can face the challenges ahead. The members are each leaders in their own right, and their diversity in skill, background, and experiences are exactly what the Godforged need to be successful.
---
The Challenges Ahead
The return to Verra is not without peril. The Ancients and their corrupted minions roam the land, seeking to twist and pervert the creation of the gods. The Godforged will face many trials, but with their unique connection to the Essence and their unwavering dedication to their purpose, they are destined to become a beacon of hope for the world.
---
The Godforged are more than just a guild; they are a force of nature, a testament to the enduring power of the gods. As you journey through Verra, remember your unique purpose and let the divine spark guide your way.

Asheron's Call... A way to solve the "Fast Travel" issues...
One way that I loved that you could solve travel through a large world, was what Asheron's Call did. In "AC" there were fixed portals that you could go into that would take you to other fixed places in the world. There were also dynamic portals that were random and went to random places. There was also a certain magic tree that would allow you to "Portal Tie" "Summon Portal" and "Portal Recall".
How this played out...
You would know the static portal locations and use them to get you closer to places faster, but you still would have to run too... for instance... a little ways outside Winstead you could have a portal to New Aela and Outside New Aela a portal to Halycon, in the Riverlands somewhere, a portal to the Desert... etc... Caravans can't go in... but people can. You could have a portal recall that you use to go to the last portal you entered. You could Tie to one portal you would want to go to often, but you would still have to run around to get to the static portals and go through several to get where you want to go.
Conflict... Also on Darktide, people would camp portals and their dropoff locations to attack people trying to go from place to place. That to me added a fun and dangerous element, and something to fight over. If you want to be safe, you have to run, if you take a portal... there might be a guild camping the other side to kill you.
Also, you could summon the portal you were tied to and others could use it, so you would summon portals and send your whole guild to attack players camping portals.
I loved this about Asheron's Call and would love to see that in Verra. A throw back to the Old School ways!
How this played out...
You would know the static portal locations and use them to get you closer to places faster, but you still would have to run too... for instance... a little ways outside Winstead you could have a portal to New Aela and Outside New Aela a portal to Halycon, in the Riverlands somewhere, a portal to the Desert... etc... Alpha Two Phase II Feedback
Top 3-5 Most Important Bugs:
1. Chain on tank archetype not working as intended or connecting with players.
2. PVP flagging and combatant flagging an unflagging with healing non party members.
3. Caravans in general, teleport to carphin, dismounting caravans on server borders ect.
Top 3-5 Most Important Feedback Topics:
1. Static rarity spawn for nodes needs to change, it's not working as intended for pvp and is not good in general, also makes gathering gear useless.
2. Several archetypes need to have rework in general, the bard feels so good as well as rogue from testing. They feel good where other archetypes feel less then those archetypes.
3. Server starts need to have no resources spawned and they need to spawn in after the start as they would naturally and at random to allow a more calm start and not zerg mentality for collecting and finding the legendary resources.

Re: Weekly Feedback Request - 02/27/2025
Top 1 Most Important Feedback Topic:
1. Animal Husbandry as a place holder is fine but having T3 mounts go from 150%-180% when a T2 is 155% is not fun for anyone. Everyone feel like 180% mount is going to be so much faster then a 155% but it's not it's barely a difference and cost 10-50G more.
This forces people's FOMO to only buy one mount even though they may want a hippo but hippo suck because the only thing that matter is speed.
PLEASE until we have traits and other cool features make T1 mounts all the same speed, T2 mounts all the same speed and T3 mounts all the same speed. This will add variety to the game allow people to ride new and cool animals based on there budget and mainly allow something nice with all the testing. There is no point in having a mount that costs 3g30s with a 50% change to make a useless BoB and only have a speed of 150%. When a croc that is guaranteed to make a mount is 155% ground 145% water and only cost 1g65s being a T2 mount is way superior to all T3 mounts.
Thank you for listening and great job to everyone working on this project.

Top 3-5 Most Important Bugs:
1. You can still auto attack while not facing your target.
2. Chain Hook(Tank) rarely works correctly. having it just reset when it doesn't work destroys the tank's GCDs, pushing them behind on their rotation.
3.Rarities of some materials can be seen on some graphical settings but not on others, forcing players to play on particular settings to gain an advantage instead of playing they way they prefer.
Top 3-5 Most Important Feedback Topics:
2. static rarity spawns- most un-fun game mechanic I've ever encountered in an MMO.
3. static rarity spawns- does not create pvp because resources are everywhere and no one else knows what rarity something is unless they actually tap it themselves.
3. static rarity spawns- is a trashy gameplay loop that feels more born out of laziness than born out of an attempt to create contested resources.
4. static rarity spawns- caused a lot of players to leave in despair because it is fun to explore and experience the mechanic of RNG... it's why we roll dice and have percentages for all of our other stats from crit to evasion.
