How DId You Discover Ashes of Creation?

Was it word of mouth?  Did you stumble across a you tube video?  Did your best friend drag you here?   How did you learn about Ashes of Creation?

A gaming friend of 20yrs. and I have been starving to find a good game that would hold our interest and keep us involved.  To us there hasn't been a good game in years and we felt most of today's games were dumbed down for the "fast and furious", "I want it now" and "FTP" crowds.

Searching almost daily he found a video and pointed me to it.  It was a great presentation.   Thanks to Lazypeon introducing us to Ashes we are here now.

Thanks LazyPeon whoever and where ever you are!

How did you find Ashes of Creation?

  • I have no idea I was just on the internet and it just popped up. I went to the kick starter and the rest is history
  • I can't remember. Something brought me to the site a few days before the kickstarter launch and I shared it with all my friends.

It might have been from the Shroud of the Avatar forums.
  • I was a follower of Deaths Proxy becase of his videos on light and dark.  He started reviewing this game and well, what is light and dark again?  If they ever let you add a referal to a already created account Deaths Proxy would be getting mine.

stumbled across an a youtube video while looking for news about another game currently in development, game concept looked great so I sought out as much info about it and the people working on it as i could find and decided to make it the first thing I ever backed on kickstarter
  • Was looking for an MMO on mmorpg.com and I found this!  Glad I did.
  • I believe it was a MMORPG news channel. Can't remember which one...
  • Kickstarter. I back a lot of stuff and look at table top games often and other categories about once a week. It looked like they have some good concepts. :)

The first time for me backing a kickstarter also.  Did my checking too and loved all of what I found.

You could just recreate your account. Since nothing's linked to it yet. haha.
  • Oddly enough GamingBible did a post on facebook about AoC with a video the day before the kickstarter finished, after looking at the video I clicked the link to the kickstarter to learn more and then ended up throwing my money at my monitor.

    Nice!  My first kickstarter too!
    /i believe
  • Word of mouth for me - Was discussing with an old guildie the fact that there aren't any good MMOs on the horizon, and he said "Ashes of creation looks good but it's going to be ages before it comes out" and I was like "Ashes of what?", few weeks later, here I am :)

I almost tossed my tea when read this and laughed!
  • Like a bunch of others, Kickstarter is how I learned.  I was suddenly upset that I didn't hear about it sooner, but relieved that I heard about it in time to back.  I somehow learned of it on its first day on KS, so I had plenty of time to research and see if it was something I wanted to get in on
  • I want to thank TheLazyPeon for his youtube video that introduced me to Ashes! Not sure if he is active on these forums, but I enjoyed his coverage of the game enough to look into it and ultimately pledge to the Kickstarter campaign  :D

In like Nov or Dec last year, someone mentioned something on Reddit about their former guild leader making his own MMO. After I inquired, it turned out it was a player I knew, from guild I'd played on the same server with in Archeage. I had been familiar with this guild and it's leader, and had many fond memories fighting with and against them. (I flipped to being a dirty pirate at one point). I started reading what little info they had released so far and came back every few weeks to check for updates. Basically been here ever since  :D

  • Google back in December 2016. Created an account, followed them on YouTube, then when kickstarter started I registered this account, because I decided to stream and wanted a name/brand on all platforms.
