Previous MMORPGs Played?
Hello everyone!
Allow me to introduce myself: Hinbane. PvPer. RPer. Done. Three words (acronyms?) and in three (incomplete) sentences. (I have a huge love for the classics and mythology and so I have also always loved the storytelling element of games).
I'm very excited by this project as it seems to account for some "glass ceilings" and blind spots in the way of game design. As I've found myself entertaining getting involved in this when it comes out, it got me thinking... where is everyone else "from" gaming wise. For me:
- World of Warcraft
- Guild Wars (1 & 2)
^^

Did I mention WoW?
The Repopulation
Salem
Archeage
Black Desert
Basically if the game is considered a sandbox I will give it a shot. Hence the reason why I was drawn to this game. Seems like a lot of you are more accustomed to Theme Park MMOs. I hope you like what a sandbox has to offer!
Guild Wars
World of Warcraft
Lord of the Rings Online
Rift
Guild Wars 2
Star Wars-The Old Republic
Wildstar
Final Fantasy XIV
Black Desert Online
Riders of Icarus
Archeage
Skyforge
Revelation Online
I'll try anything at least once that looks remotely interesting.
Runescape
WoW
Riders of Icarus
DDO
TERA
ESO
Some others in there too but I can't remember em right now...
Not necessarily in that order, although EQ was my first love. Long enough ago that I still have the yellow install disk with 989 Studios on it.
Yes, very much intrigued by it!! Hoping that it really pans out for Ashes!!
Thanks for the welcome @Kratz!!

Those are the ones I remember off the top of my head. Anarchy online was where I reeeeally started to learn to optimize my characters and actively interact with guilds etc.The earlier few attempts were just random exploration, with occasional grouping etc.
Started with the big MMOs, altho I heard too many gank stories about OU, so first MMO was Everquest. Played through most not all, EQ, WoW, DAoC, EnB, SWG, Lineage II, EQII, DDO, LoTRO. Last played thru ESO and it was fun, including pvp up until they nerfed the respawn tents. Since then I have moved over to playing ARK SE, which is a UE based sandbox survival game. From all the preview videos, it may be a very familiar place, and it may fully support VR by then. ARK SE has it in place for 2 of the 3 platforms now iirc.
Haha. I really like mmos. Oh I played a few months of rift as well.
revisiting LOTRO now for something different.
Everquest will always be my hallmark MMO though, so much so that I am currently playing on Agnar.
And tons and tons of lesser mmos.
Other than that I'm also an avid Xbox gamer and have worked in the game industry with Ubisoft as a Level Designer and Scripter.
Here are some of the bigger MMORPGs that I've played:

Hmmm. Not particularly, it's a popular fantasy archive. It's very theme parky but I thought the story quests were fantastic.
And you can wield a sword and staff as a lore master (fake gandalf). Woo-hoo.
I guess you might see a lot of it because it's still around and f2p.
AoC is probably closer to ArcheAge or Star Wars Galaxies in terms of actual physical in-world/node housing. Crafting and gathering could take some references from SWG as quite a number of the AoC team previously worked in SOE and on SWG.
Looking back on it, SOE had quite the impressive lineup back in the day. I guess all the more reason why EQ Next was such a heartbreaker. I don't know enough about Daybreak to fairly comment on their ways but they definitely didn't seem to handle Landmark and any EQ-related PR that well. But, I digress. I don't want to derail into discussing corporate management.
If Intrepid could snag all other available former SOE production team members, I'd be elated
