Question about character creation and muscular females...

I'd rather they didn't go to the extremes that you've posted, because a lot of those images would be immersion breaking. 

I would totally support a slider that could show women with muscles, but non steroidal please.

Such as some of the other images posted here.

The dev team says that they want to bring the most possibilities to players when it comes to character creation in Ashes of Creation... I really hope so

Those pictures you posted is like top 1 percent of women in the world. Some muscle on a women is hot but the min you get bigger then most dudes at the gym they lose a lot of female features and become very unattractive. My opinion tho

Yeah, when your blood vessels bulge as much as your muscles I think it is unattractive. But that goes for all genders. (imo)

What about the other side of the equation then? Feminine dudes, almost like Final Fantasy characters. Androgynous people are quite common.

I don't care either way. However, I will note this. There is such a thing as too much customisation. Unnatural skin colours, although this one is less obtuse. But games where you can make yourself incredibly muscular and tiny for example, to the point where you're basically just a block. Or where you can morph your face, and eyes into the most grotesque thing you can think of. These really take me out of it.

But muscular women in general, sure. I'm not bothered.

Look. This coming from a female. A lot of the pictures displayed here of "Muscular woman" Look... completely unrealistic. And besides. You don't see those "Big buldging muscles" unless they decide to keep their bodies flexed eternally. Here's my side, make people look, idk, normal? If you want muscles, then that's fine, but that level of musculature is rediculous. Woman usually maintain a slim appearance when muscular. The more drastic changes you'd notice lie in the arms and legs. Nothing else, really. If you're looking for something incredibly skimpy and unrealistically muscular I do not think this is your game. Most of the armors they've shown are conventional, and realistic. It's obvious, due to the level of character customization, yes, we will likely be able to have muscular woman. Just probably not at an outrageous, anime level. Believe me, I get where you're coming from, but it's just how it is with the female body. As someone previously stated, women with that kind of body are a serious minority. I don't really think I'd like walking around in "Town Square" seeing 30 overly buff woman jumping off buildings and flexing constantly just to look cool.

I'm all for those who decide that they want to be muscular, skinny or obese, plastic or botoxed... but my preference is for 'real' bodies, which overly muscular steroidal female bodies aren't, however ....

If Intrepid give us the choice to make characters this way, they could be seen somehow in endorsing the unreal body image or encouraging a culture which leads to body dysmorphia.....

But if they decide NOT to give us the option, then they're taking away our freedom to make what is (on the whole) a totally insignificant and inconsequential choice....

I'd say personally that they need to remain true to their ideal of immersiveness and 'reality' whilst still allowing enough of variation from the 'normal' to allow that freedom of expression.

What character creation options would you guys personally allow in their situation?

The first step is to actually have females ( or androgynous species)  in the game.  I am embarrassed for human kind when an mmo can be put out there without including half the world right out the door and its accepted to push it forward from release to release perpetually.    

I"m about *this* close to writing some dystopian fan fiction for Star Citizen to give a backstory to why they only have men. They need one big F*&^%^$&# story line to explain off how its too complex to not have a character without the male bits attached.

I guess I am missing something when folks criticize what the OP wants.  If you dont like viewing that in game, just avoid that avatar....for the OP tho, it is a way to more enjoy the game via a character that is more representative of the avatar they want (and they are the one playing with that avatar for likely hundreds of hours).

If the resources allow it to be done, then, as Picard use to say "Make it so, Number one!"
