What type of holidays do you want in AoC?

I am going to just start off with Christmas. It doesn't have to be called that in AoC, maybe call it Old Man winter or something that fits the game world theme. But still have the trees with lights and all the décor that goes along with it. People can add the theme to their homes and freeholds, and even server up the holiday special meals.

As far as an in game event, their should be some seasonal quests that you can do. Maybe you gain that Holiday item to help your INN stand out from the others, or you get some type of personal gear to wear.

So for the first Holiday I pick a Christmas type theme one.

So what would you pick for a AoC holiday?

In your defense, it's sort pounded in our brains that bumping old forum threads is bad. If you haven't seen it recently, it's better to just create a new thread for discussion purposes rather than being yelled at for necroing a thread.

Groping Day!
Shark Week!

Some old pagan thing that no one even remembers how it started but we all have to eat a rare fish that day and dress like monkeys.

Dragon Day! Neighbors try to set each other's house on fire and the winner has to throw a rebuilding banquet thing and have a barn raising for the loser.

Nyan Cat Solstice.  Every year we celebrate the passing of the nyan cat overhead by eating pop tarts.

Well yeah, a christmas theme would be cool.
And it would be possible to do something like that soon as Alpha 0 is getting released December 15th as far as I have understood.

I am still under the belief that if IS can't come up with original holidays (not tied to rl holidays) based on their own cultures/lore then they should avoid them altogether.

They have what, 4 or 5 races, 4 of which have subraces, why would they all celebrate the same holidays?

Maybe a "this is when we first left Verra" and "this is when we first reclaimed Verra" holidays in common, but every holiday...

I know their religions will be based on active-gods, so holidays assigned to them should be easy to come up with since they still exist and are still active in the world.

I just don't see the purpose in redecorating rl holidays....

I would love to have a christmas like holiday in ashes, where similar to the Hallows End event in WoW, at boss flies around town and you have to do certain tasks to get rid of him, ultimately killing him. In this case it would just be a twisted version of Santa riding around his sled.
