I predict, that it will launch... when it’s ready ❤️

That would definatly be a change...don't think I have seen a single game in the last 20 years that was ready to launch when it did.

Hopefully Intrepid saw what happened with Cyberpunk and learned from it. Would hate to see them fall into the same pit of foolishness.
Most people never listen. They are just waiting on you to quit making noise so they can.

I would not be surprised if Ashes takes as long as Star Citizen to launch.
I'm certainly not expecting Ashes to release before 2023.

Considering the current progress 2023 seems decent accurate
  • If I was to make a bet.

    I'd say late 2023 or early 2024.

Honestly, for me being optimistic in terms of games has become hoping they come out as late as possible because

You don't really understand the value of this quote until you see as many hyped up games fail over the years.

Ashes no longer has any official content creator partners.
And, they appreciated us sharing our honest perspectives rather than simply being shills.
I dunno why you seem to have a problem with what I wrote.

If Steven can get the game out before 2023, great.
But, back in 2017, when Steven was saying release before 2020 - I stated that was unlikely.
Before 2023 is unlikely. And it's quite likely it could be a couple years after that.
Ashes has a very ambitious game design.

Your lack of pr and marketing awareness mostly. Starcitizen is a toxic thing to be compared to for any game. Comparing ashes to it irt its timelines is extremely bad pr. I can't believe I have to explain that to you. Even if you are right, you are conveying it in a way that is pretty bad for intrepid. Full stop.

    Yeah, I get that.

  • 2025 or later.
  • Alright. I made some numbers. ArcheAge took 7 years to develop. From 2006 to 2013. AoC started early development on Feb 2016. 2023 is the year.

Ashes didn't really start development until 2018.

When Archeage started development, XL had a full team of developers that were experienced at working together.

Intrepid didn't reach this point until at least early 2018. Most of the work done before that point was in either building the team and workflow, or in conceptual design - something Archeage didn't need to do as the game was based off a well developed existing IP.

I mean, you are on the right track in comparing the time to Archeage - you just need to factor in a few other things.

Uhhh, that's a jar of cold water. I couldn't find any information regarding XL staff size and all that. So, based on your corrections we might add a couple of years. 2025?

I mean... they had a working demo and a bunch of devs at PAX West 2017.
Ashes is a huge, ambitious game supporting almost every MMORPG playstyle and the devs are making significant changes based on player/tester feedback, so... could easily be 2025. Sure.

Yeah, that is my expectation - give or take.

If absolutely everything goes well, 2024 is possible - but I wouldn't bet on it.

  • Yeah the more I read about it the more I think 2025 isn't unrealistic at all.

They have a great amount of great promises to honour and a lot of work to do.

  • Both too early and too late, as it is always the case with anticipated games.

I should be in my new modest abode within a year. I would be great it if came out 1q '23.
  • 2025 i think is way tooo much. I guess many of us try to keep a late date on our mind in order to protect us from the loooong waiting. If we say 2023 we might get disapointed so we protect ourselves by saying 2025.
