Wow cant wait to play this outdated game in 2028 , can you see the sarcasm???

What updates to technology does your crystal ball tell you will make AoC feel dated in seven years. Really curious on your perspective.

My crystal ball tells me that by the time 2028 arrives and the game maybe is released the graphics will look dated, gameplay will be dated ect, ect. Just look at new world in 7/8years will it still hold up well ? unless Intrepid got a big pot of money to change everything, it's called progress .

Ashes is on a stop watch my friend the money for development is finite and all the good will in the world can't change this I mean who's going to continue to buy from the shop for another 6 to 7 years with no end date in sight?

What about the gameplay do you expect to be stale seven years from now? Anything feel particularly gimmicky?

What about the graphics feels susceptible to aging for you? I ask because to me it's fairly stylized so like WoW and FFXI yeah there issome dust but they still hold up for me. But hey people have different perceptions so I am curious about yours.

New World feels less stylized to me so might age that way. They changed a lot about the gameplay but the crafting looks like it can become adapted for the long haul.

Time moves on and graphics get old tbh this game not to dissimilar War Hammer online only with better animations (also think they got alot of their ideas from there to)
Another 6 /7 years waiting is a long time to ask people to keep the faith on a game that started back in 2017 ish.

As for gimmicky 64 classes ,Why not say 8 classes with a choice of a different path for you to choose, any way going off on a tangent 2028 is to long another 2 years max .Oh and I would like this game to succeed .

The thing that people need to understand is that players were involved in the development of Ashes before Ashes was in development.

This is as opposed to most games, where we would be hearing about them for the first time when they are about as far along as Ashes is now - or perhaps not even for a while yet.

Most players have an expectation of a few years of knowing about an MMO before release, where as with Ashes we kind of had a few years of knowing about it before development

I know this m8 and most the people on this very Forum also know this, thing is most of the people who are looking for a new mmo also know about the game to and they are the ones who you have to convince to hang on and keep buying from the shop to keep development going....

And posting on the forum is the way to do that.

Even though Steven did say that the game is fully funded through to launch, I don't think that will hold true for a 2028 release.

That is why the store is there now. The game was stated as being fully funded several years ago, so any sales they have made since then are additional funds and/or funds that can be used to keep the game in development until 2028.

I don't know whats going to happen but what I do know is they fell short on promises with this Alpha (there are quite a few vids explain this ) There are a plethora of projects just like this that fell to the way side and got cancelled hence my scepticism.

BUT I HOPE I AM WRONG.....

The game being fully funded means the money is in the bank.

    They had that years ago.

Even if the game takes longer to develop than they expect, the additional sales from the store should cover that for quite a while, especially if the game continues to show off improvements.

While I am not at all interested in looking up any videos on the matter, I am somewhat interested to know what promises they fell short on with the alpha.

2030 would be the safe bet. With all the features they’ve promised. Could be sooner if they reduce scope. Until then we need to send Steven a bunch of cough drops and Vitamin C. Could make a game out of the number of coughs per livestream. I’ve heard Omeprazole is supposed to help, but I’m not a doctor.

Damn this did not age well lol

It's possible at least to theorycraft it

Steven has stated A2 will run for at least a year from may 2025-may 2026 I would guess it will run probably 2-3 years sadly, but let's be optimistic and say 1 year

Then we can look at previous timelines, intrepid stated that the betas will be short but I would guess it's at least a year between A2 and the betas, then probably 6 months of betas before launch, at the Very earliest with no delays and everything going right, 2027, but extremely possible we don't see a launch before 2030-2035

Alrighty boys since every topic has been discussed to the bone on here. The long waited question is upon us. How long will the delay be and when will we get our beloved MMO? Well we won't know the answer until the sandal lord himself graces us with the knowledge. But what we can do is take guesses on when it'll be released and refer back to this thread for bragging rights. Without further ado comment below when you think the MMO with release.

    A) Before 2020 xD
    B ) 2020 Q2
    C) 2020 Q4
    D) 2021
    E) 2022
    F) Never! Dead before arrival!

I bet no one guessed right xDDD

Anyway, I doubt a2 lasts for more than 2 years and it could probably last one. betas will be a week or two soon after a2. game will launch in 2026 if a2 lasts for 1 year and in late 2027 - early 2028 if a2 lasts for 2 years ;3

    that's my prediction.

you have to imagine that we only got 3 zones within the first year of A2 ..... and you guess that they implement and fill the rest of those bazillion biomes within 2 years max not to even mention the naval content and mechanix? .... delusion still is strong in this community .... the full release (1.0 with feature completion/all biomes and naval content) of the game will most likely be in late 2028 earliest.... with the cash shop ready in 2025 to get the needed funds to actually finish the project.... i guess the way everyone envisiones the game completion with multiple gameplay loops and balanced pvp and feature rich and content rich world will take at least till 2030 imo, when we get the game we always got pitched by intrepid

bruh we are only seeing what they want us to see. I'm not saying other things are finished, but be aware that they didn't work on building content for these last few years, they worked on building a factory that builds content. after the factory is built, building the content is faster and easier

I have been MMOing for about 23 years. Two things to know about MMO development. 1. They are never on time 2. 5-10 years is a normal development.

Some MMOs have taken longer. If you want to make fun of Ashes development cycle. You can. Just know, most people here dont care and most people will not pay attention till the game says they are close to release. So making fun, really does nothing for most people. Most people dont care.

If A2 goes smoothly as planed. 1 to 1.5 years. One hickup could add 3-6 months. I also don't think Ashes will launch with all features. Sea of Theves took 4 years to make. Navel will become an expansion. Or we will be at this for another 3-4 years. Could be wrong and Steven is hiding that content they have created.

I usually agree with your comments. Here, hopefully you are not right - but yes, it is a long way, but there are smart humans out there that are able to manage, design and develop and they can work for intrepid. Go for them, Steven.

If Ashes started at 2016/2017 (?) and got fans attracted with age of 30 and will release in 2030 those fans are 43 years old. 13 years in which, usually and hopefully, everything in life changes. Especially one value: Time.

30 years old single without any responsibility will be the two-child mother or father, maybe in well positioned job covering the 2/3 of the day. So, all the best for the fans being 15 years older in a life changing phase B) when it comes to time intensive designs that are loved today, but hated in 5 years >:)

I am a bit undecided between if Ashes should release with full Ocean Content or not. But i know it would be better if it would release with all Features. Less whining of the VideoGame Community and more Fun. :sunglasses:

After they gave us the current testing schedule I would assume the end of 2026 is best case, most likely sometime in 2027 if they run into any major issues they can't solve quickly.

Honest guess is Q4 2027, maybe 2028. A factor that gives me hope is the fact Ashes is always hiring, and it is approaching if not already at the level of major MMO development team. Hopefully that will speed things up.
