    I wouldn't mind a "visual buff" retention by login. What I mean by visual buff is cosmetic effect displayed on your character. Could be an aura, spirit lights, flies, a small animal, ... No other effect than aesthetic. You could gain them at the end of a quest, by staying somewhere for awhile, stepping or crossing some special terrain, whatever. Maybe if you distance the rabbit following you it disappear, maybe the will-o-wisp that buzzed around your head in the underrealm can't survive under the sun...

    That could become semi-permanent If you can keep the effect for a certain time, gaining it as a passive visual buff every time some conditions are met. You go into the underrealm? That strange light is following you again.

    Maybe gaining corruption remove the automatic apparition. Maybe all visual effects disappear as soon as you enter combat and only resume after. You can always turn it off in the setting, off course.

    There is a childish coolness the concept. :|

    stiil a no, or do FFXIV's veteran system instead.

    I'd have to say the daily rewards really create an unnecessary FOMO. If you're going to play, playing should be the reward not a daily item which rewards people for logging in every day. It seems to create a disadvantage to others who have a life outside the game which should not be punished. Just my two cents.

    TL;DR = No daily logins.

    Dear Lord of Sandals,
    Who art in Intrepid Studios,
    Hallowed by thy name;
    thy AoC kingdom come (in 2023, or whenever it is ready)
    thy will be done (by your coders), as it is in your noggin.
    Give us each day the freedom to choose if we login or not
    (without the emotional blackmail of daily rewards),
    and forgive us our trespasses when we have grinded enough exp,
    as we forgive trespassers when we cash in their bounty certificates;
    and lead us not into the temptation to try yet another substandard MMO, but deliver us from p2w.
    For thine is the Intrepid Studio, the executive power and the eventual glory.
    Amen.

    P.S. I only read the first 3 pages of the discussion, liking the comments that clearly stated "no daily logins", sorry if I missed anyone's comments. I don't suppose anyone will read this, I wrote it mostly for my own cathartic benefit.

    When I play games with this kind of thing, I set up a windows macro to turn my computer on, and log in to the game at about 3am every day. Most games have some way to allow you to log in to a character directly, so you don't need to use a macro in game.

    This means you aren't breaking the ToS at all.

    That is absolutely fantastic. I love it.

    For me, I don't like all kinds of daily (marked) things, you always feel forced to do these things or have to log in all the time, just for the Daily/Login Rewards... I don't want loot boxes where you feel you are in a kind of casino xD (always with the hope of the jackpot)

    You can talk about daily quests, if they are nicely designed and make sense, then ok.

    So, please no login Rewards!

    Still pretty clear-cut that we don't like them! Seems a shame to waste a Dev Discussion month on it when we have this megathread here.

    In all these yes and no posts I am only seeing 'disadvantageous or beneficial'... Why can we not think of it as a way to give a cosmetic? Something that costs ZERO money, but ONLY requires 3 MINUTES of your time every morning before work or every night after you lay your kids and wife to bed. If the system wasn't giving any in-game items that can in any way further progress me or help me in any situation, and was purely cosmetics for saying 'I logged in every day in February', I can't say I'd be displeased with that.

    Because that system is shit. It was shit in ESO and it'll be shit here. That's why a system like FFXIV's Veteran system was suggested in stead, as it's not based on login but time subbed.

    'I logged in every day in February'
    Why is this such an achievement that it warrants a reward, cosmetic or otherwise?

    They’re really gonna waste a Dev Discussion when it could not be more clear that nearly everyone hates login reward and daily to-do lists? You already have our answer and it’s that the game should be rewarding in its own. If you have to hand out daily junk to entice people to log in, then your game sucks and you should fix it. Bandaid on a bullet hole.

    In BDO they did log in rewards and extra log in rewards during seasons. In fact, you could get so many rewards from simply logging in and entering daily codes that you could hit Pen Tuvala (Rank 4 Boss Gear Equivalent) on the first day of a season. It completely negated the whole point of a season character in my opinion.

    BDO is a bad game in many ways and it continues to drive me nuts. I do not appreciate cut corners or compacted achievements. Logging in should be the start of an endeavour, not the end of an endeavour.

    I really hope IS do not back down and add log in rewards of any kind. IS might add redeemable codes but I would hope these redeemable codes don't equate to gear enhancements in any way shape or form. Its obviously not Pay 2 Win but such a practice is definitely convenience to win.

    Edit: Spelling mistakes lol.

    Daily login rewards are a stupid gimmick trash MMORPGs implement to give their 'playerbase' an incentive to login every day just to get the reward. It brings nothing to the table because the rewards are stupid and gimmicky.
    There is no need for this in this game or in any other games for that matter.

    Please no.
