Can your gold buy that? Your gold can't, but it could with contracts
My gold can, because I don't need a weak casual carebear system to help me get power. You love to talk all about carebears and whining and weakness, but this contract system is the weakness.

You guild/node can't even coordinate a proper attack on your enemy, across timezones and the entirety of the game's world? You're weak. Gid gud or die trying.

My L2 guilds had to wake up in the middle of the night to kill a boss and on multiple occasions I've had sick friends with 39C temperature delay other guilds from farming a boss by running in circles in the boss room (due to a particular mechanic in L2). We didn't need some weakass system-based contract to do that. So do better.

Imperfection is perfection. I'm all for mercenary payment systems, guild payment systems and mayor war quests for Guilds and mercs for money. I'm not keen to allocate tax funds when we have no clue what tax funds are required for right now.

Don't worry, what you think is not important. Besides we already know how the taxes are collected nowadays.

Because you couldn't figure out that in AoC, kills drop no gold, drop no gear and only generate expenses. If you can't see that, then it's not important what you think or say. You have no clue, so don't worry.

I don't get why you are here if all you want to do is avoid risk/reward and change all the systems.

You are forcing all players to play like real war pvpers? Hello?
I played like that for years and I know what it takes, be sure that having to play like that will force player numbers down.

A system like this would let carebears hoard gold and then spend with people who can properly fight their wars for them.

This system is all about taking carebear money and protecting them, keeping the PvE people alive is part of the game's success.

Let the people who can actually fight wars well do the fighting in both sides, let the carebears farm and pay the bills.

Why are you here if you can't understand anything because you are blinded by your own malice, but you only see problems where there's no problems.

A system like this would let PvPers protect the carebears, then the hardcore pvpers would sort out among themselves who die and who lives.

Carebears would have it easy, they would go farm their shit and outsource the pvp heavy lifting.

If you can't see this, just get over with and give up.

Lol. A PvE Guild will probably have an alliance with a PvP Guild - perhaps 2 (alliance can be 3 guilds). I know pve guilds that have wiped the floor with pvp guilds too. Such is the way with pvx gear instead of pvp gear.

I'm seeing a lot of dissonance in this comment. Decide which side you want to be on, helping weak carebears or disregard their opinion. You talk quite badly about pretty much any other suggestion that helps out casual players, but when it comes to your suggestion, it's suddenly all about helping the poor and protecting the weak.

Your system would be used by super rich guilds to put down weaker guilds. And it would only increase the disparity between the casuals and the hardcores. The strong guild would just put up a contract that completely covers the price of a wardec against their chosen enemy and they'll pretty much remove them from the game or make them dissolve their guild.

The weak won't suddenly band together just to pool the money for a good contract, because they value their own resources much higher than some arbitrary "we got them good, didn't we" idea. And even if they ever did, all it would take for a strong guild to win is to put up a better contract against them.

A "pvp for pvp's sake" mechanic will make people think it's fine to just kill people, as long as someone high up is paying for/telling you to do that (there's even psychological studies about this). So adding a system where people can easily gang up on others would only lead to a much worse gaming environment later down the line.

This is one of the reasons why we have corruption and why wars have their own goals rather than just "kill them all".
