its your fault for going corrupted in your best gear not knowing how the system works.

You can chop some trees and buy basic gear again.

Game needs no PVE only server. If you don't like the Devs vision - don't play bro.

Having corruption is NOT CONTENT. its a punishment system that serves to only take away from the game and protect people who would grief you in other ways I.E. PVE adnies such as ur self
Corruption during Phase 1 is a balancing issue; not a stability issue.
Phase 1 is about stability testing.

The corruption system is too harsh. That's my 2 cents. But I keep hearing it's only temporarily this harsh for A2 circumstances and testing purposes. I haven't seen that confirmed anywhere but maybe I just missed it. Can't say I agree with everything the OP and others have said...but yeah. Most people have been expecting a fairly harsh corruption system for years, especially as you scale up in corruption. But this, the current state of it, is comically harsh. And it definitely seems to be less about stopping griefing and more about stopping pvx/pvp.

What are we at, 3 weekends of A2 now? I've been pked once. And that pk is the only time I've even been attacked, period. I am level 19. I am unguilded. I've gotten to level 19 spending about 90% of that time solo grinding. I've been attacked ONCE. And the guy who killed me didn't even go red after he killed me, so wasn't even a real pk. He must have been exploiting some kind of bug. He was a ranger, maybe the ranger thorns bug or something.

I personally don't want to constantly be attacked and killed. But this, in it's current state, is a meme. I hope it's temporary like people have said and that at some point we'll get around to testing the Ashes we've been sold for years.

with the corruption system as it stands no one will pvp for any reason no matter the mats.

Agreed - Especially considering the corruption system as it stands doesn’t reflect the final version, since this is Alpha 2. This is all part of a testing effort, with a vast amount of change still ahead of us for years. Intrepid has been pretty transparent about what to expect.

If that’s not your cup of tea, just come back later.

i then lost all of my weapons for this. How is this balanced in any way he lost some gatherable goods I.E. moments of work where as i lost all of my gear progression for daring to PvP ONE PLAYER ONCE... NOT TWO NOT THREE NOT FOUR.

It's not and it was never inteded to be balanced at this stage.

From the Wiki: "This phase is focused on testing scalability, stability, performance, and progression."
A lot of people seem to have trouble with believing Intrepid when they let people know a specific intent for something.

This game is NOT a PVX GAME!!!

yes, this is not a game indeed. What's new?
The answer is probably >>> HERE <<<

How the system works is the problem tho. And the problem is that the system punishes EVERY kill on green players. The only players that the corruption should punish is the griefers. Not those that kill for opportunity.

Ii always happens OP Cearbeers invade a PvP MMO and fuck it up.
Intrepid buckled faster then i toght they would.

Hmmmm.... or perhaps it is just a lot of pseudo-PVP players that only want an advantage fight that refuse to flag up for real PVP that would rather focus non-combatants that have no interest (and likely no gear or experience) in PVP that like to think of themselves as hardcore PVPrs? 🤔

DOnt know i flag for resources, grind spots and what ever.
If i die i lost if i win that thing is mine.

    Cant do that now.

    Boring

You can run around flagged, you can flag when you see someone else flagged, you can flag and toss a couple basic attacks at someone to tell them you want to PVP and see if they will flag back.

I would be bored too if I had no pvp during test so I make sure I do, I just do not attack non-combatants and watch my damage during combat to make sure I am focusing a flagged player.

If you want to kill for opportunity without penalties - kill Purples and Reds, rather than Greens.
Especially since Phase 1 is a stability test; not a killing spree FFA on Greens testers.

Every server is a PVE server with small pockets of PvP allowed to happen. These pockets are end game currently and there is zero PvP else where.

I attempted to PvP someone 2 levels higher then myself only to find them to run instead of fight. i chased and killed them.

i then lost all of my weapons for this.

Right now PvP is pretty much non-desired if i understood this right. This is why Sir Steven multiplied(??) how harsh the Punishment for getting corrupted is.

I'm not asking for anything, simply putting it out there, as it stands the game actually discourages most pvp, and based on the games that have a similar system, a very predictable result(desired or not) is what you'll get.

I'm not that invested in what the game does, I'm just stating the reality - all of this sandbox risk vs reward talk ultimately boils down to being a luxury only larger guilds will be able to participate in, due to the risks for engaging in pvp being extremely discouraging from anyone else

Pointless open world pvp isn't most pvp.

Also no game has a system so similar that we can predict anything, you're going by assumptions.

Allowing full open world pvp w no corruption just so you can solo pvp is really stupid
