Comments
Will profession selection directly affect combat? Eg health boost or poison resistance.
Will world boss drop pool be unique? Will it force me to hunt that very specific boss for crafting purpose?

@13Jekyll (question 1, 2, 3, 4), @Shouri (question), @Argantis (question), @raeyik (question), @Derized (question) - Please only post one question next time as requested, and if you only posted one question, please make sure to keep it as direct/succinct as possible - that way it's more likely to be picked!
@Dante Machiavelli (question) - We were testing new motion capture technology, which would assist our animators in some of their tasks, and would streamline some aspects of animation development ^_^
@Garren (question) - "There are climate effects that occur from a buff standpoint. They can also affect skills like, let's say you're using a frost bolt in a winter climate. There's the ability for those effects to be enhanced and/or stronger in those climates." You can learn more about this and the many other systems of Ashes of Creation here, on the wiki!
@T0Mb- (question), @Lithion (question), @Sometimesmiles (question) - Please stay tuned for more information regarding cosmetics as we progress further in development!
@Spenta (question) - There is a ton of information on this subject which can be found here, on the wiki!
@ChaosFactor (question), @FalseDreamer (question), @arsnn (question) - Currently, AI voice-acting is not something we are working on as we develop the Ashes of Creation Alpha Two phase. However, our team is always looking at new technology that makes sense to implement in Ashes of Creation.
@Drunkninja (question) - I can neither confirm nor deny the implementation of Grand Theft Bovine in Ashes of Creation
@Laetitian (question) - Not much is set in stone, as everything is currently being developed, designed, and iterated on during development It's worth noting that the augmentation system will allow players to alter some spells, which might address the concern you perhaps have of the number of abilities a player may have
@RisingLight (question) Yes! One method of group-finding are the Bulletin boards, found in nodes and player taverns You can read more about these here, on the wiki!
@HolyEmpress (question) - If you're wondering about where caravans come from, this page of the wiki might assist you! If you're wondering about what goods are relevant to caravans, this page might help you!
@Hartassen (question) - Our team is constantly growing, and we've grown tremendously in recent years and months! Here is a link to our careers page
@WHIT3ROS3 (question) - Migrating to Unreal 5 from Unreal 4 helped our development process! In a nutshell, Unreal 5 has been better for our developers, and has made the process smoother since our transition! You can read more about our transition here, on the wiki!
@RowniSciponi (question) - As a general rule, we will not tolerate the ToS being broken. When it comes to testing during Alpha Two, we'll share more details about this subject as we get closer to the launch of Alpha Two ^_^
@Tamerlorde (question) - The game will be balanced with the idea of the trinity, or class role philosophy, in mind. With that said, there will be many ways that players will be given agency over their characters. Whether it's secondary archetypes (classes), augments, skill trees, weapons, armors, etc!
@George_Black (question), Yes! This will be a factor when deciding what weapon you want your character to use. An example of this may be the Tank's Shield Assault ability requiring a shield to be equipped
@Neurath (question) - There is a small RNG chance of looting rare and legendary items or crafting materials from mobs based on the level, status, and type of mob. This also applies to harvesting resources with a gathering profession. There is a much higher chance that materials and unique recipes are dropped that can be used to craft items of equitable value. You can read more about this here, on the wiki!
@vahro (question) - There is a possibility that Ashes of Creation could potentially make it onto other operating systems in the future. For the launch of Ashes of Creation, we're focusing on just Windows
@FlowGotThe (question) - In general, we want to make player decisions and choices matter. Especially when relevant to our Risk vs. Reward philosophy. How often players can change skills and abilities will likely come down to testing and feedback during Alpha Two!
@Ace1234 (question) - Currently, we don't have plans to implement something like shield surfing as a reliable means of traversal or transportation. However, there will be other means of transportation, such as ships!
@Sengarder (question) - The Bard archetype will be able to play musical instruments, such as flutes and bagpipes. Custom music creation (using the likes of the Music Macro Language) will not be present in the game on release. Each instrument may have unique sounds Stay tuned to learn more about the Bard as we progress further in development!
@Kesthely (question) - This is something we'd love to do! Once we've progressed closer to Alpha Two, we can consider adding these to future archetype showcases!
@MMOAddict (question), @LittleLightz (question) - The Summoner and Bard archetypes are not as far along as the Archetypes we've shown, and not currently in a state where we can show them! As soon as they're ready, we'll be excited to show them off! ^_^
@TeemEmurica (question) - You can read more about what has been said regarding Guild Halls here, on the wiki!
@Brattak (question) We are planning on making a board game! You can learn more about this here, on the wiki!
@Schwann36 (question) - The answer to your question, and likely many more you may have regarding Secondary Archetypes, or Classes, can be found here, on the wiki!
@Heljy (question) - It will likely be both! We want to create an immersive experience, and we believe that music is pertinent to eliciting an emotional connection with the game. With that said, we would love to have both atmospheric music, as well as music for things such as specific boss encounters! You can read more about this here, on the wiki!
@SkylarckTheBotanist (question) - The team is hard at work developing ships and naval content! It's currently not in a state to be shown on a development update livestream, and we have no dates to share regarding when we will feature it on a livestream
@Ventharien (question) - Secondary archetypes may be changed, but not "on-the-fly". We don't want Classes to be something that can be changed all the time, and we want the decision of your secondary class to be important, and a careful choice made by the player for their character You can read more about this here, on the wiki!
@Chaos_Legion (question) - Events may bring seasonal change. A raid boss, such as a winter dragon, may appear because a node has developed to Town (stage 4). This may bring an eternal winter that affects crop rotations until it is killed. Seasonal variations or times of day may affect certain objects in the world, such as mobs and mounts. Mobs and Mounts of a certain rarity are visually affected by seasonal and time-of-day changes. You can learn more about this here, on the wiki!
@Frozty_Thundertrod (question) - Our recommended and minimum requirements are absolutely subject to change, and likely will do so! We will have more information regarding system specifications are we progress closer to the launch of Alpha Two!
@NyceGaming (question) - Yes! There will be leaderboards, and they will feature things such as dungeon and raid information. There will also be an Arena Ladder, Guild Ladder, and Metrics
@BaSkA_9x2 (question) No, I don't believe we've made any changes that have made the game in any way less playable for casual players. Players who are more casual in their playstyle or time dedication are still an important part of the community, and we hope to make Ashes of Creation accessible to as many people as possible You can learn more about what has been said regarding Casual vs. Hardcore Players here, on the wiki!
@_Rads_ (question) - There will be no region locking, but certain regions will have "harmonized" subscription prices that better reflect their local economies. Harmonized regions will be segregated from other regions. You can learn more about this here, on the wiki!
@mcnasty (question) - Certain secondary archetypes are capable of "bridging the gap" between their counterpart. Here is a quote from Steven on this: "Certain archetypes are capable of moving the gap between their counterpart per-se. If I am a Tank archetype and a Mage is my counter, I can take a Mage secondary and kind of bridge the divide slightly; and then move my identity that direction ever so slightly." You can learn more about this here, on the wiki!
@Sweatycup (question) - I'm happy to report that Ashes of Creation will feature group mounts, which you can learn more about here, on the wiki!
@Arunteli (question) - Currently, the plan is for server prime-time to work around objective-based PvP events such as node sieges, castle sieges, guild wars, and node wars. These would occur within a prime-time window somewhere between 3PM and 9PM server time. This is subject to testing. You can read more about this here, on the wiki!
@13Jekyll (question) - The summoner will be effective in naval combat and bosses at sea flying spawns will likely not be necessary for the Summoner to be effective with this type of content
@TarnishedSolaire (question) - Ashes of Creation won't have a typical endgame, and we want players to have both verticle and horizontal progression Here is a relevant quote from Steven on the subject: "Multiple playstyles should be relevant and viable. Additionally, you have a spread between casual players and hard-core players; and most of us exist somewhere on that spectrum. The progression path in a society or religion is more conducive to the time we have to play. Whereas, someone else may be playing several hours a day, and they have a better opportunity for the raid/level progression that might require some more dedication. So we want to have these different progression paths available to accommodate the different times in our lives that we have to play the game. And all of those types of progressions will make us relevant in some way shape or form to the general world." You can read more on this here, on the wiki!
@Venkal (question) - Each ship will have strengths and weaknesses which will make players consider which is best for their current objective! There will likely be several different types of ships that have their own pros and cons Stay tuned, as we'll likely be sharing more information on this subject soon
@xVexX (question) - You can read much on what has been said regarding server merges here, on the wiki!
@Killion (question) - This would depend on the scenario, where you're fighting, who you're fighting, what you're, fighting, why you're fighting, etc! For example, let's say you're fighting a group for a popular spot for killing monsters. If you win, you could scare them off of this spot, letting your party take over the area. For the losing group, they would get the appropriate losses for their deaths, and may need to recuperate to try again, or perhaps try something else
@Kiwi_ (question) - Security systems will be in place to combat cheating, exploiting, botting, gold selling/real money transactions (RMT), item duplication and other things that affect the economy starting from Alpha-0. We generally want to keep the details of security systems close to our chest for security purposes ^_^ You can read more about this here, on the wiki!
@AlphaCala (question) - Much of the relationship between systems and content will be symbiotic With that said, doing activities such as questing will usually provide XP to the relevant node ^_^ You can read more on this, and many more systems here, on the wiki!
@Solvryn (question) - Victory in PvP can depend or rely on many different facets. You can read more on PvP here, on the wiki!
@SpaceWolf (question) - Please stay tuned for more information regarding Underrealm Nodes as we progress further in development
"@TopWombat (question) - Each secondary archetype offers four different schools of augmentation. Each augment school affects a primary archetype's skills in different ways. For example, a Mage offers Teleportation and elemental schools of augments. These augments will affect a Fighter's primary skills differently than a Cleric's.
Each augmentation has a level requirement. You can read more about this here, on the wiki!
@ICEFOOL (question) - 90% of quests should be able to be shared by everybody. You can read more about quests here, on the wiki!
@consultant (question) - You can read more about server vs. server content here, on the wiki!
@Roofian (question) - Varying tiers of mercenary NPCs may be unlocked based on the investment made in their progression. Highest-tier NPC mercenaries are referred to as heroes. You can read more about Mercenary NPCs here, on the wiki!
@Zyntho (question) - Currently, we do not have plans for this. However, our team is always looking at new tech, and what makes sense to implement and utilize for Ashes of Creation ^_^
@HoU_Jinos (question) - Steven answered this question back in October The answer can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_P7AK22_18&t=5965s
@Tyranthraxus (question) - This question was asked and answered during our March 2022 livestream! You can find the answer here
@RazThemun (question) - Steven can be found answering this question here!
@Wembley (question) - This will likely be possible
@SongRune (question), @Rociz (question), @Frost01 (question), @Aniion (question), @Billzbub (question), @PlasticLemons (question), @zombinvestor (question), @Leonerdo5 (question), @JustVine (question), - Your questions were ones we hoped to have gotten to on stream but didn't quite have time. We'd love it if you come by next month for the next development update livestream to ask them again! ^_^
@NiKr (question), @Voeltz (question), @Azherae (question), @Hrothgor (question), @Garrtok (question), @Castai (question), @DougBug27 (question), @Goalid (question), @SunScript (question), @Fantmx (question) - Congratulations! Your questions were answered by Steven and Margaret on the livestream! Be sure to check out the VoD on YouTube in case you missed it live!
