Re: Player enemy visual Health Bar update on hit.
To make sure it's clear, there's been no word on this ever being the case. The only reason some people started believing this was because during the ranger showcase the first kill didn't make Steven red.Ayeveegaming1 wrote: »Some people are speculating that sometimes the first kill does not give corruption so this would theoretically take that leniency away.
But in the bard showcase (which is the more recent one) the first kill did in fact make him immediately red. So, as I said at the time, the ranger showcase's build simply had a bug with the corruption system.

Re: Food and Food Buffs
Food should give long duration buffs.
Players should not eat while fighting mobs.
Agree, generally their are two ways to do this. Individual food items being eaten give a very long duration (20-30 miniute), or Albion strategy of having 'stacks' of food which the player equips and which then get drawn down in a kind of auto-eating that happens in the background without player input.
Given the existence of Taverns which are supposed to sell food and provide other long duration XP buffs I think they will go with the former strategy, and eating the same food in a Tavern might make your buffs even longer/higher. But their will still be some way to eat food out in the wild, likely around campfires and other brief downtime. It will still only be a brief event every half hour or so I think, Intrepid has always said they do not intend to go down the survival game route.

Re: Ashes of Creation must dodge this bullet
Supposedly, gear is only 50% of our power. So if legendary pieces give amazing perks - they might still be more useful than getting a few more % closer to that 50% value.Ok I see. The utility is based on the perks. It usually works for jewelleries. But for weapons or armors, Im not sure it will be still be profitable use a low level gear.
The stats on gear we've seen so far indicate that higher rarities might simply have more instances of perks/effects in them, and with crafting dials being a thing, there's a fairly high chance that a legendary low lvl item that's somewhat "easy" to acquire would provide you with waaay more benefits than the value of a slight dmg increase that a basic higher lvl item would bring.
Either way, we can't know for sure until we see the full crafting cycle in A2.

I don't quite agree with the author of the topic, but other users' posts touched a nerve with me.
Guys, are you really rejecting the data from L2 private servers? This is just ridiculous. They are much better than the official ones. The reason is that the official servers with each update (after GoD) turn their favorite mmorpg into a pseudo-mmorpg loot box machine. Popular private servers focus on improving the best versions (~C4, ~GF, ~HF5). Online statistics speak for themselves - even in the conditions of censorship from copyright holders (streams on Twitch and videos on YouTube are blocked if they become somewhat popular) players choose private servers. This stupid conflict and the turn of the official L2 development towards an anti-mmorpg path is one of the reasons why so many L2 players want AoC to successfully adopt the best mechanics from L2: we heard that Steven is familiar with the spirit of some of the most successful versions of L2 and we want to help

Re: Well requested a refund on my Alpha 2 package
Bought this Friday, but last 2 days I’ve found out so much about this company and Steven in particular, I just don’t trust them to deliver a decent game, or any game
I’ve always had serious doubts, but now I downright do not trust anything he said.
Company has/had two liens for not paying tax. Lied about why they stopped selling cosmetics, the battle Royale fiasco…just to many red flags l will give them till Monday then do a PayPal forced refund if needed.
You see the stories about him and AA…
Do not buy an unfinished product or game in general. That's has nothing to do with Steven or intrepid, that's just a general recommendation. Once the job is done, the work is done, the result is of good quality - then you buy it.
If you invest in something, you should get ALL information (especially the financial ones - because it's your money) and as this is not the case for some individuals or small companys that aren't forced to publish their books and financial statements and reports and don't have to reach promised goals or dare timelines. Everything is wihtout obligation and without getting consequences - for the one getting the money, the other side must face all the consequences.
Saying this I've to state clearly that I'm convinced that this is no scam and beside some topics I like Ashes and still have hope that several features - in the end (not nowadays) will work smoothly together - but I'm just not running towards a person or a development team because I really don't care if that is Kevin, Steven or Donald doing it. It's all about the game and content in it, nothing more. And I'm investing my money only at a point of time where I get result of quality at this time, not 10 years later. Did that the last decades, will do that all the upcoming decades.

Re: Endgame PvP transition
I'm against any kind of gearscore indicator in the nameplate. I'm fine with armor transmog. Learn your opponents as people, not just stat buckets.
I'm also against there being huge amounts of vertical progression via gear rarity (IE, someone in L50 purples doing +50% the damage of someone same spec, but in L50 greens), so it really shouldn't matter that much.

What I'm taking away from this discussion is that L2 sounds cool and I wish I had played it

Re: [Feedback Request] Alpha Two Citadel of the Steel Bloom & Firebrand Preview | August Livestream
My only criticism I have towards this game is the horrible combat it has. Two years ago they showed an excellent combat prototype that is melee, and then they remade it to make it look more like the target combat of classic MMOs, horrible decision by the developers.
Sooner or later they will have to change the combat, and adapt it more to modern demands. The graphics are good, but they need a darker, medieval fantasy environment, like references to Souls and LOTR.
Mobs and AI, is this game supposed to be next generation? or is it a set of classic MMOs? They need to integrate an improved AI so that the mobs have more prominence, improve their combat and add better mechanics so that it is difficult to kill them. The boss is very easy to eliminate, the guys in the comments added several references to recreate a good boss. Diablo IV is a very good reference.
Seriously guys, if you offer a renewed combat more adapted to this time, this game will live and more players will want to try it and play it. You don't need to revive classic mmos Steven.
And last thing, the classes should have more prominence, the healer must have damage skills, he can't just be a healer. They urgently need a druid.
