  • I work full time and have other hobies outside of gaming.  As such I tend to spend about 2-4 hrs 3 or 4 times a week.  For this reason I only join guilds that dont demand masive contribution.  I expect I will commit more time while getting established but then settle into the above time commitment for the long game. B)
  • Really depends on the day. On some days I can only play for 30 mins, on others I can play up to 6-8 hours. I guess its usually 2-4 hours a day :) . If I like the game that is.
  • About 2 hours a day.   I will still get what I want done without spending so much time playing :)
  • I'm thinking 2 - 4 hours minimum... depending on work and family commitments. Heh.
  • Well, i have a life and i do consider games antertainment so usualy litlle more then 2 hours but never more the 4 .

    I'm a filthy casual.  :(

You mean you actually have a *cough*  real life?  For shame!
Not so much a real life, more of an extremely short attention span, a lack of focus and stamina to play for even modestly extended periods of time.  :'(
  • I do have a life, and quite busy too... but I am going to dedicate as much time as possible to AoC.

I am trying to understand the idea that since I can play a lot I might be perceived as no life. I mean, where does that leave me? Undead? It can't be living dead since that would involve having life. Does that make me simply dead? Does that rule out being a cleric? Does my lack of life change what classes and races I can be?  We need more lore so I can follow all the ramification of the no life classification.

Maybe I shouldn't worry. At what point gaming point does one lose their life?

I Really need to read up on lore.
  • I'm airing on the generous side as well.  It's high likely that I'll have a kid at this point to which the number certainly dip between 1-4 hours so we'll see.
  • No lifer here. I plan on streaming it as well.

I work 40+hrs a week, but confirmed bachelor with really no desire to start dating, whose main hobbies are gaming and fishing. Don't fish much in the winter, so given the Dec 2018 Alpha speculation, I'm set to go for 4-6hrs a day if I wanted. More on the weekends.
my long lost brother....is that you?

damn i could have wrote that description myself.. im guessing though 2-3 weeknights mon- fri , weekends illl be banging 8 hours a day or more.
  • Total no life for the first couple months then I will just weekend warrior it for the most part. Luckily I can take long breaks from work. Anyone else interested in no lifing the game with me!? Let's do this.
  • Gaming is the ONLY reason I hate my job.....
  • have job and bills to pay

I plan to no life it until things are on farm/routine.  Shit I might even go for server first level cap for the class I pick.
  • I guess I'm the most casual of all, can't put to much time on this with college and all. let's hope I've finished by the time the game is out xD
  • I am a casual with no life.
  • 4-8 hours, that's my avarage amount of daily gaming I guess.
  • More than likely a lot closer to 4 hours most days after work.  If I really love the game during testing, I will be taking a week or two vacation from work to play more after it is released.

You'll learn to have the tyke over your shoulder, on your lap or in a sling!  Teach him/her early to sit on your knee!   At least for 5 mins. a day!

                                               or

The little one will teach you once again what fresh air is and how to possibly run the triathlon!

  • @CylverRayne is correct. My 5 year old son gets to open all the doors in the game and he's happy. After a few minutes he leaves me alone :D

I taught 2 little guys how to use a pc. They'd sit on my lap and ask if they could play.  I told them when they learned how to read I would let them actually play.  Both boys became avid readers, learned how to read a map/compass and learned good gaming manners!
  • Lifer here.  Game time depends on what else is going on in RL.  Some days I get 4-5 hours and times I get 3-4 days between logins.
  • It'll really depend on the day for me obviously. On average I'd probably 2-4 hours a day, but on the weekends if I have nothing going on, it could go waaaaaay more than that.
  • I can pretty much tell who the no lifers are from the forum posts.
  • I aspire to be a no lifer especially when MMOs are at the early life. But once I realize I have no chance to keep up with the 16 hour a day players I tend to slow down.
  • Ha! I felt bad for choosing 4-8 hours until I saw how many other people did too. :)
  • I Have Kids now but if AoC meets or exceeds my expectation I'll lean towards no Lifer.
  • I'm the only one with 1 hour?  #lonelyatthebottom

Just a thought, if a no-life back the Backer of Worlds tier, does that mean that his lifetime subscription is void?

If they're undead then it's still valid.

So #lonelyatbottom, you have a life and obviously money too. I have no sympathy ;)
