Are you a casual or a no lifer?

  • i'm a casual no lifer so why not both? XD
  • During the week usually about 4 hrs a day and on weekends can be 8 or more hours depending on what is going on.
  • Casual for the most part, an hour or two after work and before bed. On weekends however, when there is nothing going on, especially in the winters here, could be many more hours :)
  • 4-8 is the best I can do on a work night. But on a day off, you better believe it's gonna be 16+ hours!
  • I've been everywhere on that poll. Depends on the game really. But at heart, I'm a no lifer :)
  • Nolifer at heart but can't nolife at PC because of real life reasons :'(
  • If they get rid of auto aim, I'll turn into a full time no lifer.
  • Like most I have a job and a life of sorts so the best I can hope for is making AoC another full time job (so I have time to at least eat and sleep......a little)
  • So many posts about casual players this week, so I thought I'd necro this to see where the new peeps are at. Belle, hope you don't mind :worried:
  • I'm uhhh, i put 12-16, but...here is my thing, in a 24hr period i'll probably play that, but i'm a casual that has no life....that is how this works lol.  i'll be logged into the game, smart glassed to my ipad or some crap, talkin to my bros and brodettes while i smoke some ribs or grillin' some burgers with a nice frosty adult beverage....
  • Depends on day of the week and interest. If the game holds me captive sleep is optional. I can sleep when I am dead. 2-4 seems reasonable but could be a lot more if I get emotionally involved/excited and can't wait to play more.(As Dolphin said with SAO would be great. I just restarted the series.)
  • My commitment to this game and the Community is equal or greater than that even to my IRL job =)
  • My aspiration would be to have no life but I fear the responsibilities of being a silly adult will stop me from achieving just that

    8-12 hours

I work a twelve hour overnight shift. I've learned that I can't keep flipping my schedule around to be awake during the day on my "weekends", doesn't work out well for me at all.

They roll the sidewalks up at night here, so there isn't much to do besides watch tv, read, or video-games. I prefer the interactivity of videogames to sitting there passively watching the idiot-box. Reading is my other hobby and will compete for time :-)

  • I'm not sure, describe "no lifer"?
  • Work life, home life and sleep.
I wonder if anyone who doesnt play MMOs as a full time occupation is considered 'casual'.
Who was given the authority to define where the boundary lies at and create the synthetic categories, to demand that one could be treated differently to the other ?
  • I work to much to really put much more into gaming, but on days off id say 10 hours, probably 30-35 hours a week will be spent in AoC
  • Casual. Have a job. I'll dedicate on day of gamage and maybe a couple hours of crafting on the side.
  • 1 to 2 hrs a day. Binge on weekend. Got to pay the bills
  • Thinking of selling my aquarium so I can do more hours, those damn algae are driving me nuts
  • Most gamers go through life cycles like so called normal people.

A person might devote their early life to gaming then one day higher education interferes with gaming time and or  they wake up and find they want to get to know the opposite sex better.  If they're lucky they meet another gamer but most can't get their new found loves into gaming so they take a break or two.

From there they consider a real means of supporting their habits because mom decided to give them the boot and their partner wants to go out to dinner some place besides Micky D's. Gaming is put aside as they try to please others and fullfill the need to feed and clothe them selves.

Suddenly their own children arrive and and they hope it's a chance to *cough* teach them to game.  Spouse might allow some but they insist the rest of the time is theirs or for the entire family.  If the gamer is  lucky they can squeeze an hour or two a week out for themselves.

One day work slows down, or they can find time at work to play. Retirement follows for many and free gaming time arrives once again!
That is if the spouse is tired of you hanging around bugging them!

Wait you can like your own posts? That's cheating! =p
  • I'M NO PLEB!! Got to play like an hardcore gamer
  • Casual. Have a job. I'll dedicate on day of gamage and maybe a couple hours of crafting on the side.
    I have a job too!

Maybe we work at the same place!!!!???
  • On week days I can do 4 hours a day with weekends being the whole day.

  • I'm offended by this Pole as there is no 24/7 365 option that is suitable for my needs. I demand this be added in future no-life sections of a pole.
  • I have no life but I play like a casual gamer... does that mean i'm a no lifeual? no lifeasual?

    what's english? halp!~
  • is this per day or per week

can I causally have no life?
