38, don't feel a day over 25... I have only played a couple other MMO's and if you add up all that time it might be 40 hours. I am an explorer, and once I see everything I tend to get bored quick. I have been waiting a long time for a game that has a changing environment as opposed to smaller DLC areas.
    Hi Azathoth.
I have to ask, did you miss a couple of 0´s in that statement?
U said you played a couple of mmo´s and the total time is 40 hours?

Yah, it has to be way more than 40.

Patience, Grasshopper.  Some wisdom can only best be obtained through experience.

I'm 50+.  But I'm not afraid anymore.  Each year is just a little closer to the permanent vacation they call "retirement".  :)

  • I'm legit surprised that there seem to be more 30+...or even 18+, as the last MMO I played seemed to be overrun with players between 15-23. Rarely found anyone over those ages, though of course I knew a few. Perhaps it was because I just participated in PVP but yeah...didn't expect it.

I'm not surprised in the least.  Ashes has attracted the attention of a large number of experienced gamers who have grown weary of what the genre has become.  Ashes promises to deliver many of the things we enjoyed in the past, plus some new concepts that will greatly enhance the overall experience.  All of this is very appealing to veteran MMORPG gamers.

By contrast, many younger gamers have no experience with such things.  They only know what's out there now.

Well yeah, I get why it appeals to veteran gamers. But even a younger fan of MMOs would be able to see the potential of Ashes, or so I would assume. Everything from pvp to crafting and RP looks amazing...IMO it should appeal to every player regardless of age or interest.

It could just be the type of player that frequents the forums, tbh. <_<

    I guess time will tell.
  • I don't know if teens these days even have the patience or attention span for non p2w MMOs.

Exactly what I said earlier, The younger ones will show up when the game is released. They won't be found outside of game in a forum

I'd be willing to wager there's more of them on Discord than on the forums, for sure.
  • Could we have a +50 as well please  ;)

I'm only 20. I feel so young compared you old farts (jk)

Edit: removed a word that didn't need to be there.
  • So it's either around 20's or old.. heh
  • 23 almost 24
  • Just squeezed myself into the 0-29 bracket hahaha
  • @Crivel, nope 40! I am not fond of level grind until a certain level then you can play, P2W, or the general level of conversations that happen on MMO servers. My first real experience resulted in me being camped, and then everything after that was approached through a really negative filter on my part. Through that filter nothing seemed worth it.

But it's been a bit and I am looking forward to Ashes a lot. The community we have so far seems a cut above, but time will tell...
  • I voted, the rest of you will have to guess my age! *Evil laugh*
  • Pity they didn't make the game 30+ only :p

Then you wouldn't have as many great people, age does not mean mature ;)
  • I think its best If I don't post my age ^^
  • seems to be about 50/50 from 100 votes. I thought about making it 25+ but I tried to generalise the age that was aware of pre-internet analogue times and probably 10+ years of MMO exposure.

Thansk for participating and showing [at least on the forums] that Ashes has attracted a broad  age demographic.

    Lets go with that
  • 30s a bit low to start the count, LOL. I take it the OP is 30, or just over? ;)

The golden age, like the early days of UO, was 20 years ago. There would have been few 10 year olds playing back then. Many homes didn't even have the Internet, let alone 10 year olds playing a subscription game :)

The MMO veterans of today, who were really doing the do back in the day are 40 plus now.
