Glorious Alpha Two Testers!

Alpha Two Realms are now unlocked for Phase II testing!

For our initial launch, testing will begin on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 10 AM Pacific and continue uninterrupted until Monday, January 6, 2025, at 10 AM Pacific. After January 6th, we’ll transition to a schedule of five-day-per-week access for the remainder of Phase II.

Hey everyone! We’re collecting questions to answer live on air during next Friday’s (6/30) Twitch stream starting at 12:00 PM PDT / 3:00 PM EDT / 7:00 PM UTC / 5:00 AM AEST. Please post your questions in this thread and we’ll pick around 10 or so to answer live on-stream. Please only one question per person. Additional questions will likely not get answered.     How will players running caravans know what nodes will need for supplies? will there be a universal  bulletin at each node where merchants can communicate and request supplies in town and with other nodes or is it all by foot and hear say? 
  • Will summoners have the ability to summon temporary items for use by themselves, other players or NPCs?

    Will a healer be able to heal people out of group without leaching?  I ask because I like randomly healing people if I see they are in trouble, if I am able.
  • In regards to classes and balance, are we aiming for every class being viable in multiple roles, or each class having one role they excel in and then other off-roles?

    An example of the first system would be ESO, where each class can tank, heal, or DPS viably. An example of the second system would be more similar to FF14, where a DPS class can't heal well if at all, and vice versa.
  • From the class description of bards, it sounds that they'll be charming and creating nightmares. That certainly sounds like effects usually found in classes focused in crowd control. 

    My question if that one of the roles of bards in Ashes, how then will CC work in a pvp context? 
  • In animal husbandry, when an animal is “born” from breeding, will we get the opportunity to raise it, or will it be born a grown-up?
  • Will we have tab-targeting for allies?
  • Are we able to tames all monsters and creatures in the game?
  • Will we have an achievement system similar to what they have in popular theme park MMO 's? Or maybe we can hope in something more dynamic and not so constraining?
  • Can we PLEASE have underwater nodes and underwater metropolises?  
  • What percentage of all the creatures found in the world of Ashes will be accessible in Animal Husbandry? (excluding bosses, and humaniod npcs)

    Hi,

    With name reservations on the horizon,  can you clarify how optional character surnames will work? For example, does the first name still have to be unique if you are using a surname, or can other characters have the same first name?  Surnames will be per character, and not per account, correct?

    Hi,

    Are there plans for formal wars between guilds?  If you declare war on another guild, will the players of the two guilds be flagged to each other?  Could an alliance system automatically bring allied guilds to the defense of the attacked guild?  In which case, secret alliances would be an amazing dynamic.

    Hi,

    There was previous mention of small team arenas and ladders incorporated into those arenas.  What are your plans, if any, concerning instanced battle grounds, like 15 player matches with various game modes?

  • What kind of guildsupport can we expect in the game? Will a guild only be like a second friendlist with ranks or are there other features of beeing in a guild (Buffs, Taxes, Skills, etc)?

    Hi,

    What is the Intrepid team's opinion on community creating mini-games, like a card game, based on AOC concepts?  Would this be something you'd like to see happen organically, or would you rather the community waited?

    1)  Will we be able to Dig / Excavate ?
    2) Tall Grass to hide in ?
    3) Will we be able to Create additional Abilities with Crafting Materials

  • Can we have some information on how shields and blocking will work. ( Examples: Active blocking, passive block rate, quickly move short distances while blocking to close gap on ranged attackers etc.)
  • Will there be an Alliance chat? How many guilds can form an Alliance?

    How you will be fight against secondary, third, fourth and so on... running windows in game client to abuse some of ingame mechanics?
  • Can the inside of houses / freeholds be access / visited by other players?
  • Please Explain the quest system.
    Can you get different results for the same quest, like for clearing a quest within a certain time or by giving more than they asked for?
    Will there be timed quests?
    is there any interaction or leeway with quest givers?
  • Will all metropolises look unique and will they have different layouts?
  • Will the Fire/Ice Elemental character skins for the summer campaign be purchasable "a la carte" as well for Kickstarter backers? Curious because the skins we're a strong motivation to get the KS Leader of Men package, but I can't afford another 1k again. More than willing to a la carte them tho. 
  • Can you expand on the plans for fishing mechanics and gameplay? Will it be 'Push button, get fish' or will there be active abilities to use? Will there be prize fishing for gold and/or prestige (Leaderboards)? Will there be AFK fishing?
