Meaningless PVP
Griefing-Archeage suffers greatly as nations when you allow people of that same nation to steal, destroy, obstruct the goals of the nation by a few. If you are trying to build up nations it is tough to do when people can be jerks with no way to really combat their behavior.
Zergs-Good RVR is not huge guilds or combinations of guilds rolling through the rest of the people in the game. RVR if a part of the game should be limited to similar numbers for each side.
Huge empty cities that seem to have nothing going on inside them.
Dont think this game is in any trouble, i think this game in very good position to offer something no other modern game can offer. If you get attacked while raiding, means you need better tactics to get the raid killed. Scout area, be prepared to disengage, fight off potential attackers, reengage the boss and kill it. Keep in mind, that people wont be able to just tp right back to the raid once killed. So if you win pvp, you have window of oportunity to take down the raid, so raiding will be much more interesting than just plain PVE WOW type of raids.
This isn't a RvR game like DAoC, ESO, GW2, and Warhammer were. Any factions will be created by players and there are no limitations to who you can kill, besides of course the corruption system. This game seemingly will have good viability for zerg busting through guild buffs and group synergy, but we just need to wait and see.
I don't think there's much meaningless PvP besides low level ganking in ashes, which will be heavily punished through corruption. All the PvP is tied to controlling nodes, resources, areas, and more. It all seems to have a purpose to me.
BDO has a node system that allowed smaller guilds to take smaller nodes and their node combat was pretty fun and required strategy and allowed you to buy certain items for defense etc. I was part of the secondary guild of one of the largest guilds. The secondary guild was newer players or players that were not as committed to being the best having the best gear, or could not play as much as others. It worked and it didn't. BDO required working heavily with other guilds to attempt to take castles and that made the game interesting. Sometimes guilds would all vie for the same node and never fight just to give it to one of the guilds.
It will be interesting to see how they do it here.
In serious trouble of being awesome.
Griefers? Its one of the core concept of the game, that you need to fight off other people to kill any raid or to have a good exp/drop spot what are you doing here at all?:D
When Star Wars Galaxies was in development. They were open to the community and their desires for their MMORPG.
There were some fantastic suggestions, and most were implemented.
Unfortunately, they implemented so many player suggestions, the game deviated from it's core design; faction pvp.
Instead, it became a Crafting and Cantina Dance Party. Don't get me wrong. I love both, and these were great features. But, that's not why I joined, I was expecting faction pvp. Instead, I found myself dancing and monitoring my factories.
As much as I wanted to train a Rancor, everyone had one. They weren't rare, rats were less common.
So, my point being? I don't want Intrepid to cater to the players. I hope they stay with their core design and features, and only add where nessisary. So far, I am pleased with Intrepids decisions, but that can always change.
Loot goes to the group that did the most damage to the boss from what I understand.
I would not want to see easy content. For example, raid bosses that die in 2 minutes and do not fight back. I would also not want to see easily obtainable items/crafts. Basically, I'd like the game to be challenging and take time to progress through.
To me it's the opposite. A world too packed with mob spawns and NPCs feels fake and makes me feel like I am in a theme park. I like to feel like I am exploring a real world and to enjoy a beautiful lanscape.
Some games you can't even toggle autorun for a second without getting in a enemy camp and see 20 quest givers.
The game clearly isn't for you, so instead of whining around on the forum, why don't you move on? Attempting to change a major feature of the game for your own selfish reasons is ridiculous.
This image should speak for itself..... Idc how cute, how funny, how "lol iconic" something like this is... Please for the love of god, not even in the cash shop... do NOT put in outfits like this where you walk into a tavern of magic and medieval themes only to find some clown wearing something like this dancing on top of a torch clipped into the wall.
Nothing kills a game faster for me than knowing that some of the top players you're fighting are just treating everything as a joke. FFXIV does silly outfits right for the most part by involving some of it in the game's lore and treating it in moderation than in abundance.
As a side note... I'm also not for overly naughty/sexy outfits. I don't mind sexy armors for female chars but I'm SO tired of every mmo making a piece of floss represent "plate armor" for female characters. We have enough waifu simulators and porn, let people look cool and the part for the theme this game goes for. Just a simple example of "sexy armor" done right vs.... Too much fan service.
Good armor done right below. Form fitting, resembles the theme, makes the character look badass AND sexy.
Bad armor design below. I don't really need to explain this one tbh. It gets old, real quick when you hear male players pick female because of the "better designed armors" and really it's just because of the "sex sells" pitch. I could buy the 300 dollar alpha package right now for every time I've heard "I want something nice to look at".
That said.... If there is to be armor "this" sexualized, then it should be applicable to both gender options too. Male characters should get the same treatment females get and vice versa whether it's plate or cloth.
By end game, if I'm a Nightshield, I should be in something that looks like this. https://imgur.com/fpiAnrG

Very yes!!!
LOL It's hard to get boobs to jiggle properly in a game. I've seen some where they are flying all over the place. They just need a subtle wobble.
Then this lead to many things i don't want to see in the game xD too many ... so i expressed all of them with this simple concept ^^ . Just fun game.
I don't want to see too much, too messy and too broken.
*becouse that's what i feel beeing the first potential problem of AoC*
Anyway you had a rly good point, a boss smarter than usual that doesn't autoattack a single player with a yelling talent. (the tank)
agreed
