I don't want to see any this cancel culture, diversity propaganda or anything remotely political in the game. Keep it to gaming ONLY. I would quit so fast if they even try to push any this.

Anyway racism is bad, sexism is bad. If these realities impact your enjoyment of a game, then the problem is you

Spoken like a true virtue dictator. It's always the other person who is the problem, isn't it? Excuse me not wanting geopolitics/race pandering in a virtual reality role playing game, that is literally designed to be a fantasy world where everyday problems don't exist. They DON'T need to exist in every thing that is created

As others have stated, they agree. You don't have to, just go join your favorite political group and leave the gamers out of it.

Once again, please point to any actual example of racial pandering in video games. Y’all complain about it, but have yet to show it’s even something to complain about.

I have been in the non-vocal majority and was disappointed that I did not make myself a part of the vocal, biased minority.

To get what you want in any aspect of life you must be determined and vocal. If you don't speak out on topics where you desire change don't expect to get the change you desire.

You never asked for examples. lulz. Delusional, indeed.

Well if you want an example here you go. Madden 21, Colin Kaepernick. Guy isn't even on an active roster, yet he has better stats than half of the QBs and even stats to Brady.

Far Cry where they pushed whites as domestic terrorists.
    Wolfenstein 2 overly political
Call of Duty WW2 & V : Women did not serve on the front lines in those days. Historical context
Mass Effect Andromeda: Pushing Ryder to have gay intercourse
Assassin's Creed Odyssey: Giving into pandering
    Doom: Pushing right wing agenda
The Division 2: Pushing left wing agenda.

These are problems from political fanatic ideals. What's so hard about keeping politics out a game?

    Teleportation

Either distance matters, or it doesn't - no exceptions.

If it's a dragon, it should leap/fly/ram things.
If it's an evil mage, it should teleport around.

    This.
Different enemy types should have different strategies for defeating and defending against them. A giant health pool and DR does not make an interesting boss fight. I want different enemies to require different approaches to fighting them and the linked bosses to build on the strategies employed, rather than just taking more time to kill.

It’s really hard to believe you’re after “realism” if you really think Greece wasn’t full of gay sex happening xD

What do u mean by teleportation? Do u mean like fast traveling between two different cities?
Do u mean abilities that move u in a certain direction like a charge / blink ability?

Those are both forms of teleportation but affect the game very differently. Also how do u view summoning other players? That's also a form of teleportation which has been confirmed to be part of the game (at least for now) while still being limited.

Ummm, I never said realism. I'm gonna assume that you never completed english class, your context clue skills are severely lacking.

Maybe take a look at your own words before you start talking the basics conversation.
Call of Duty WW2 & V : Women did not serve on the front lines in those days. Historical context
Mass Effect Andromeda: Pushing Ryder to have gay intercourse
Assassin's Creed Odyssey: Giving into pandering

Three fairly obvious ones where you assume it should have been more “realistic”. Odyssey didn’t pander to anyone.

In Mass Effect, you certainly didn’t mention having any issue with straight intercourse “being pushed”.

And CoD, where you claim historical accuracy means there’s shouldn’t have been women NPCs? Why would that bother you if realism doesn’t matter to you?

Are you going to complain that AoC dwarves all can have facial hair? It’s a fantasy race where both sexes can grow facial hair. Is that pandering somehow, in your mind?
  • My biggest worry about AoC is the pseudo action combat. In my experience action combat, especially around "basic attacks" feels clunky. It doesn't really feel like your skill as a player is expressed as instead of it being about how you use your abilities and how quickly it becomes far more about "did you happen to click at the right time while running around frantically trying to face in the correct direction." This tends to devolve very quickly into two players running around each waving their weapons and hitting 1 in 10 attacks. This then leads to the longest ranged weapons having the larger arch and therefore being easier to hit with making them far stronger than anything shorter range like a dagger (practically impossible to hit with) or a sword (refer to the running around hitting 1 in 10 comment above). Just watching the dev videos we can see archers already having to resort to massive AoE abilities in conjunction with their bows to have even a chance of hitting the broad side of a barn, and even then its 50/50 whether the player hasn't dashed out of the way with one of the many mobility abilities in the game already.

    DPS meters.
It's fairly hard when playing a tank or healer to see what the other players are doing.
If you play a dps and your trying the same raid with the same people and you keep failing to kill the boss due to lack of dps; It's very easy to see who's scratching there nut's (fannies) while watching netflix.

DPS meters = Flexing your ego (causes so many arguments)

Iv'e played mmo's before and after the dps metres were introduced, there's some think about them which brings out the toxicity in players.
I tell you what i know about Dwarf's.
    Very little

Apologies, I wasn't explicit in my reply.

I define teleportation as fast travel between not-near each other locations & summoning by other players/methods.

In my humble opinion, the reasons given for implementing the family member summoning are poorly justified excuses, made in an effort to please as many people as possible.
I don't understand how it can be claimed that "distance matters" and wanting players to experience the world in depth, and then throw in some restricted teleportation functionality if you meet certain criteria (eg: family member).
If family members can teleport each other, why can't anybody teleport anybody?
How is that worked into the lore?
Maybe I am missing some key information or something, but for now it just doesn't sit right with me.

What is ONE thing you dont want to see in Ashes?

An empty world.... specifically, no point in having a large landmass if when you go to explore every corner of it the only thing you find is.... more landmass. I want to randomly run into hidden bosses/treasures/secret locatrions. When I find a way to climb that rocky mountain (instead of going around it on the road) I want to be rewarded by my creativity by finding something fun somewhere along the way (even if that only ends up being some super rare resource to which maybe I keep the location secret to me or sell it off etc...).

    Totally agree. 👍

  • I don't want to see empty cities or zones. I want to see cities and towns flourishing with a believable population.

...And I don't want an art style that sacrifices quality for performance. Just sayin' is all.

The best solution for performance is just to let the players have plenty of options to optimize their experience if they want. Personally if my rig chugs like it's running a 100+ mod skyrim session while I play a gorgeous-looking Ashes, I'm fine with it.
  • PvE.
  • I reeeeeeeally don't want to see stupid Fortnite style cosmetics.
    Hellokitty hats.

Oh yeah! Aside from PvE, I don't want to see these stupid nerdy kid cosmetics either, I hate this trend, it destroys all possibility of immersion and makes the game just for ****.
  • I don't want to see lack luster character/class progression. I'm tired of being Paladin #5443958, I hope that the progression system is flexible enough that with all the classes we have to pick, that everyone will be able to adjust to their own playstyle and still be useful in PvE or PvP.

Not being able to see everything just because you arn't in a big guild,

This is a horrible idea. You want to experience everything in a group driven game but don't want to be part of a group? I think the issue may be that you have never been a part of a "good" large guild. Proper leadership is very hard to come by in mmorpgs and most people are greedy for virtual loot. Private message me if you want to hear about how I run things and you will be able to experience the entire game without worry.

Did you actually read that 1 sentence m8? I said not in a BIG guild , not solo, lone wolfing, on your jack or however you deem being alone.

Just why should all content not be accessible simply because your guild has 50 members and not say 200?

I do not want to see the following:

-- Flying mounts become mainstream and everyone has one.

-- Cross-server interaction where you see players from other servers on yours, competing for the same resources and mobs.

-- Looking For Group mechanics that has ruined the server communities of other MMOs.

-- Content intentionally made for groups eventually becoming soloable.

-- A large amount of cookie cutter and repetitive quest design.

-- Un-cannon storylines in the Lore.

For all its flaws, I loved that BDO cities / towns felt populated. My favorite implementation of towns remains Ultima VII where NPCs had homes, jobs, attitude and a schedule.

  • I remember back in the B/C WoW days I would tag an elite on my Hunter, and drag it all the way to Orgrimmar, and watch it kill everyone. Little thing's like that in a game make a world feel alive, and dangerous, and anything can happen at any moment. I hope Ashes allows that.
