Secondary class discussion.

Hello my dudes and not dudes and everything in between.
I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone thinks the secondary class will do to your primary.
Do you guys have any thoughts on how it could or should work? Any particular kind of ability augments you think a certain class should get?

Is this a 'I wanna chat!' question or a 'Hey where's the community in terms of opinions' question?

Thank you. I'll read up on all these!
1. + Bard = Argent.
(one of the most difficult tank combos for me to imagine), but I will try to assume that now tank skills will weaken the enemy, or increase survivability and resistance against enemy control. movement speed can be increased.
2. + Cleric = Paladin.
(without thinking for a long time) I can assume that his attacks should heal allies, perhaps the effect of "immortality" - the automatic resurrection of the tank after death.
3. + Fighter = Knight.
when taking this class, there should be an increase in physical attack and defense.
4. + Mage = Spellshield.
improved resistance against magic for yourself and for the group.
5. + Ranger = Warden.
increase the range of provocation skills. Improved durability against ranged weapons.
6. + Rogue = Nightshield.
detection of invisible objects and improved protection against bleeding/poisons.
7. + Summoner = Keeper.
the ability to suppress the actions of summoned beings.
8. + Tank = Guardian.
average class among all tanks.
summing up, I want to say that I think that all classes of the first profession "tank" will be the antipodes of those classes, which second profession they will take.
I would have to agree with most of this. I would change a few things, tho.
Tank+Rogue=Nightshield-Evasion tank with limited stealth.
Tank+Cleric=Paladin-Normal tank with some self-heal/buff, add holy damage.
Tank+Bard=Argent-AoE buffs for allies, good CC for mobs.
Tank+Mage=Spellshield-Add elemental protection, damage absorbing shields of some dope magicks my dude.
Tank+Summoner+Keeper- Tank gets some access to summons.
Tank+Tank=Guardian- This boy should be beefy with damage negating skills, CC and more health.
Ohh I love stirring up this question
I hope that secondary archetypes if built properly can shift the role of the players character
I too enjoy the theory aspect of it.
@SirChancelot - I know what you're thinking. Don't do it.
What flavor of tank, good sir?
but i dont!
Come oonnn 😆
I don't think it should work for everything, but I'd love to see a few combinations here and there that if fully spec'ed into being that role it could create a tank or healer.
That's why I'm so eagerly looking forward to A2 and beta. I'm hoping they will have some functions for testing giving us easy respec of skill points and secondaries to allow for experimentation. I absolutely love finding the weird shit that shouldn't work.
Are you talking about a specific type of tank build or something?

But if I'm going to give you a wishlist tank pipedream, that's this one.
https://forums.ashesofcreation.com/discussion/50881/a-different-type-of-tank#latest
Nope
😆
I'm not going to try that again until I actually get to see more and play around with it some, if @Azraya wants to read through the old one though, by all means
I still love my plug for how summoners could work on that thread
i'm reading it now.
Enjoy dude 😎
I'm about 300 words into it.
We are gonna get along.
Is this about the (chain)Mailmen again?
😂🤣😂🤣
Cheers mate
Mailmen? Nahhh
My big brain theory of with augments you could turn mages or fighters into tanks if you built them to be. You weren't a fan if I remember right.
Totally agree
I hope you just choose a flavor you like to build a playstyle you enjoy and stick with it
Read it. Sounds like a good class.
I hope thats the direction they go with how your secondary class changes you.
Let me throw one back at you:
Tank+Rogue-Nightshield
Shadow Step: Become invisible. Other players can only detect you when you get too close to them.
Slit: A melee ability that does moderate damage and prevents enemy spell casting for a short duration.
Poisoned Blade: Dip your weapon in a powerful poison, while active your basic attacks will poison the enemy.
(this poison does damage over time and slightly lowers physical defense)
Quickfoot: Self-buff that while active, increases your evasion rate and crit rate.
Dark Rush: Directional dash that gives you a small damage absorbing shield.
Quick Resolve: Self-casting ability that removes one random debuff and briefly increases damage reduction.
Adrenaline Control: Raise max HP and movement speed for a duration.
Just some ideas that are neat to think about.
See
Tank rogue being a dodge tank all about avoidance instead of blocking I'm 100% for. Maybe not stealth, unless it is for a surgical engage. Because I feel like if you have something that stealths you it would make you drop agro, which is pretty non tank of you. Know what I mean?
Yeah, youre right.
I only added stealth in the hopes that a dev saw this and thought it was cool
because i really want to play an evasion tank with stealth. i REALLY want to.
