Yeah, if that is the case I don't think any of us actually disagree, except maybe Mag, on what kind of chat we would like.
This entire forum will never understand each other for none of us can properly communicate ffs.
That one poster that was super adamant about proper language was right. Gdi. Fuck alpha1 and its terminology. I thought we were discussing the released game and how stuff will work there.
Depraved and Mag seem to want true global chats. Azherae agrees with them for her own reasons. And you're in the middle, because you want separate chats, simply for bigger swaths of land than what I want.
This is fucking dps meters all over again. 10 sides talking about 10 things while thinking that some of the other sides agree with them, even though that side only agrees with their own point Fucking hell
I mean I think there should be a chat that encompasses more people that the citizen chat without it being too big so I don't think it should be bigger than a node or how you put it with the vassal chain would be good to.
I can totally agree with a 1/5 chat, be it metro chain or castle zoi. Hell, having both would be more fun because there'd be different overlap that would lead to more spying and trading of info.
But none of that is "global".
I mean its mainly a QoL feature I would like added. Instead of everyone being in one spot shouting for members for whatever activity they have planned they can post it on a board for people check out and an area for people to meet at and adventure out from. It's not something I "need" but is something I would like to see implemented. As for the bulletin boards already planned, and maybe I misread the wiki, but I don't think they are planning to have a place on it to post for parties or guilds. I mean you could maybe argue the posting of quests but without more info I just don't know.
I merely wanted the same functions we had in a1 and unfortunately, the a1 option was called Global. I don't envision an actual Global Chat in the live game because Steven said he was opposed to an actual Global Chat a while ago.
I agree but according to the wiki it will be used mainly for marketplace stuff such as finding what player stall has the stuff you're looking for, players can post quests, and Mayors can post Jobs. It also says that all this is supposed to "encourage localized grouping" but nothing on there says anything about posting parties requests or guild ads.
This is where we use Steven's beloved "it's a work in progress" against him and yell off the rooftops about wanting more board functionality
100%. If it's not in on Alpha Two it will be something I will be requesting constantly for sure.
So tell me if I am misunderstanding. So you want an "Area" chat for each area and under that you have lfg, trade, and so on. And from your tabs you can switch to any "Area" chat at anytime from anywhere?
The reality of board without global chat is people will use it to post their discord. You are holding on to it as a weapon to try to convince yourself you are right.
In a few more messages we'll learn that fucking none of us want a proper global chat
So, just to be sure now, @Neurath do you want the same thing or are you ok with regional chats only being accessible if you're in said region?
I want the area chats to be accessible only to those in the actual area. I do not consider an area chat to be an area chat if you can access it from anywhere. The exception to this is node citizen chat which I think should work anywhere on the map. So, 'Kingdom Chat' would have to make an announcement and the Mayors would have to spread the message if the message is important. Much like real life.
Exactly you can communicate anywhere you want, it gives people the choice to interact globally or not. I had mentioned this already and how it divides the chats and location of people.
Or you can just answer the question instead of being a passive aggressive prick. No one has been rude, merely asking questions and anytime someone throws you any resistance to your take you act out like a child. So please, either answer the question and we can continue a discussion or just don't post.
It gets better with every message. Or do you want some message limiter on "global" messages, which would defeat the whole purpose of a global communication?
You are missing the point on global chat, it is all global in reality but it is done correctly. Same way guild is also global.
Your point is you want nearby chat and shout which is slightly further. We want to communicate and build connections anywhere. We don't want a board which is a glorified mailbox being how you try to communicate and get groups going as the sole source.
No one uses mailbox's in mmorpgs to me its weird as hell you are pushing for it. If we went on the street and asked people that played mmorpgs they would all be like that is actually crazy and ask why,
There will always be limits based on intended scroll feed and interactions.
By your logic there should be no limits on gathering materials or pk counts then. So are you down to remove all limits on AoC?
Sounds like an amazing system definitely meant to support communication between people
If at all possible I want to have chats free of restrictions. Of course anti spam is preferrable but I don't want to pay to use the chats, have items for the chats or permissions for the chats. I think ignore functions, block functions and blacklist functions are enough. Entry should be predefined and available to anyone who wants to partake. The 'Kingdom Chat' is far superior to /shout or Node Citizen Chat. If you experienced A1 you'd understand how good 'Global Chat' was and that was only a 'Regional Chat'.
we need dps meter chat
People will use it for all kinds of reasons not limited to only lfg/trade/guild recruitment.
Plenty of types of people exist with different motivations, I don't know how you can't see that in a mmorpg with tons of people. You are walling yourself off to try to ignore that reality.
No one will misunderstand each other if everyone just agrees with my opinion.
