Server Reset Question, I understand there are intended resets throughout the Alpha 2 Phases
If Guilds / Friend Groups are able to get onto the same server, and if servers reach Pop Cap. How will resets impact getting back on the same servers people were on before. Will there be a rush to try and get your spot or will server accounts be persistent in some way?
Are one handed daggers a planned weapon (not referring to dual daggers), and furthermore, as a long time pathfinder/3.5e fan, I wonder if Ashes will involve Dex penalties of some sort for wielding a shield.
In more recent livestreams people have noticed that the environment looked less vibrant than during the Weather System Livestream. Could you explain the difference in color saturation, ground textures and ground objects (like weeds and grass)?
is there a chance that PvP will be turned off during phase1 outside lawless zones if its get too out of hands to the point ppl cant even test the stuff that u need feedback on?
Hello! On the release of the game, will you have active GM's that interact with players, handles issues and such or will you have a automated system that blizzard currently has?
With Alpha 2 just within reach, when can the playerbase expect the Content Creator program to go into full swing?
I'm not sure if you saw, but they just hired someone for the Content Creator Management position. I imagine they will need time for onboarding and such, here is hoping soon though! So many apps to go through
Hello again, glorious Ashes of Creation community! Thank you to everyone who stopped by and shared a question with us for this month’s stream. Q&A submissions are now closed, and we’ll see you at 11AM Pacific on Friday for our livestream!
I feel like rangers are disgustingly over powered.
Will it be a waste of time playing anything else?
Rangers seem to hit an insane amount of times and from a distance, leaving players dead before they can even climb to the ranger that will just jump away anyway.
I don't want to play a ranger, so I'm here to complain.. um.. Inquire..
Good day. Alpha 2 is on its way and this is encouraging.
But there is one very important question about the first phase. As far as we all know, quite a lot of people are going to alpha 2. How will the studio solve the problem with queues? We look forward to helping you test and improve this great game. But I don’t want to sit in lines all weekend.
I see where at level 50 you get a quest to get a license for a plot of land for a homestead. Then you have to win an auction and there will limited numbers being auctioned to where most people can't have one. What is your plan to keep this from being, just a test of who swiped the most on a 3rd party gold seller? As that is exactly what an auction of something needed, that most can not ever get sounds like.
Greetings everyone - thank you so much again for sharing your questions with us, and for tuning in for today's livestream! In case you didn't hear us cover your question on the stream, it may be because we've shared an answer previously - check out more on that below!
As a reminder to everyone, you can find the answers to many of your questions here, on the community wiki! https://ashesofcreation.wiki/
@PlasticLemons (question) - The instanced rooms offered at Inns will likely not have a hard cap on tenants.
@SnowElf (question) - We should have exciting updates regarding the Content Creator Program very soon
@Roubi (question) The team is working hard on events for Alpha Two! Many events will be added to the Riverlands in updates after the launch of Alpha Two on Oct. 25
@Voxtrium (question) - The team is hoping for several key systems to be online and in a testable state at the launch of Alpha Two! Some of these systems will create "content loops", but nothing will be in a completed, or final state during the first phase of Alpha Two.
@Tolesama (question) - The goal is balance. There is a chance that some Archetypes have more or less than others. The overall goal is for there to be choices and for those choices to be impactful. Some archetypes may have more or less than others, as long as we feel the balance has been struck. This is of course subject to testing and iteration as archetypes are continually developed during Alpha Two
@Vexxis (question) - We do not have plans for Controller support for Alpha Two. Though. controller support is something we'd love to implement.
@Falkath (question) - Gatherable resources (also known as raw materials, gatherables, and harvestables) occur in locations where you would expect them to be organically. Lower-level resources will be abundant. Higher level resources that are gatherable by Apprentice level or higher artisans will spawn randomly but in places that make sense for that type of resource. Surveying is a mechanic that solo or group players can utilize to track these resources down. You can read more about this here, on the wiki!
@Ace1234 (question) - Seems like one could roleplay using either method if they so choose
@Blip (question) - We've crunched the backend numbers to arrive at those figures. However, many things are subject to change once Alpha Two goes live
@ChaosFactor (question) - Allowing player-dropped items (such as Gear and Currency) to exist in the world is likely not going to be allowed. You can find this answer and many more here, on the wiki!
@Tanneroth (question) - Alpha Two is a testing ground for the game. Nothing will be in a finalized, balanced state during Alpha Two. That fine-tuning will be done during the beta phases
@Neurotoxin (question) - The team is currently working on a program to reward testing. We'll have more details to share in the future
@Cinyx (question) - A great way for your guild to stand out is to help us test all the systems a coordinated guild will be best at testing! For example, Nodes, Mayorship, Citizenship, Node Wars, etc!
@Axxor (question) - The team is always looking at current and upcoming technology that would make sense to implement into Ashes of Creation!
@Toothpaste (question) - Aquatic mounts are Tier A mounts that may be obtained from taming underwater creatures. Aquatic mounts are faster in water and slower on land. Aquatic mounts will be able to fully traverse naval areas and water areas. You can learn more about mounts that traverse the water (aquatic mounts) here, on the wiki!
@shakman (question) - This is a tricky question to answer because Ashes of Creation will not have a typical end-game where content is essentially static and repetitive. Instead, max-level characters will be able to engage with many different gameplay loops that open up based on how the world progresses over time. You can read more about the "endgame" experience here, on the wiki!
@warpath98 (question) - After the two hours of open combat following a successful node siege, any remaining freeholds will exist under a grace period for roughly 1 week where another node may take over the zone of influence of the freehold. The freehold owner will be required to undertake a quest process to have their freehold adopted by a new node if one exists. At the end of the grace period, if the freehold does not reside within the ZOI of a Village (stage 3) node or above, it will be destroyed. You can find this answer and many more here, on the wiki!
@Ashenforge (question) - The goal is to implement an in-game bug reporting feature during Alpha Two
@Caeryl (question) - There won't be specific loot drops for artisans. "We don't have the concept of harvesting from bosses. NPCs follow a reward table format, where those reward tables are global. They're not unique to particular players. So, once the NPC is vanquished, you have access to the loot container that is its corpse; and it has a static value of either materials or items that get dropped; and whatever the party loot settings are that you might be a part of, or if you're a solo player you will be able to recover those things." - Steven Sharif
@akabear (question) - Nodes advance to the first stage quickly. The more advanced the node is, the larger its ZOI becomes. The more players mean more XP which will level up the node. In turn, the more your node levels, the more content unlocks! You can learn more about Nodes here, on the wiki!
@Warth (question) - As with any game studio, there are always challenges when approaching a release. Things like accurately scoping projects, playtesting, and bug finding and squashing all pose their own unique challenges as we approach Alpha Two
@KatoPao (question) - This is not a feature we have planned at this time. However, that isn't to say it's impossible! If we see a high demand for this feature, it could end up being something the team researches. We're always open to feedback!
@Laetitian (question) - We don't have plans at this time to give developer statements justifying why each feature is designed the way it is, in-game.
@Nyronke (question) - If the question is to stimulate motive for Node War, then I would say the goal for the system itself is to incentivize them. If the question is to simulate Node Wars, then I would say the goal is for players, especially guilds, to test this naturally during testing, so we can observe the way players interact with the systems. You can read more about Node Wars here, on the wiki!
@Fantmx (question) - The team is working hard on the core 8 races of Verra. Once more work has been completed on these races, the focus will shift to taking the time to make the Tulnar as awesome as we can
@Mayhem (question) - Currently, we haven't disclosed plans for EU servers during Alpha Two at this time. Stay tuned to our socials for any updates regarding this!
@Morgalf (question) - This is something that the Player Corruption system aims to take on! The wider the level disparity between the players, and the higher the attacker's PK value, the more corruption score they gain. You can read more about player corruption here, on the wiki!
@Ozijak (question) - This is currently not a planned feature of the Character Creator at this time
@pthr33 (question) - There are many threats across Verra that will impose dangers. This can include monsters, other players, or even Events!
@JaceGrimblade (question) - The cosmetic pets sold with Pre-Order packs are just that - cosmetic pets. They do not function as skills for Combat Pets.
@Chicago (question) - The tropics and desert biomes are examples of biomes being worked on, and will likely be featured in the first phase of Alpha Two! Because development is always in motion, everything is subject to change. Whether that is something as simple as balancing, or system tweaking. Feedback will be imperative as we progress through Alpha Two
@Raznork (question) - The community wiki is a great source of information and may be insightful in understanding the design of secondary classes (which you can read about here: https://ashesofcreation.wiki/Classes )
@WilDHunT (question) - We're always looking at UI and quality-of-life features, and what makes sense to implement Seeing the community share requests may help inform those design decisions
@Smirn (question) - Wipes of the nature you're describing usually clear the existing characters and realm progress. In theory, a guild could rush to that same realm, or choose another one, since they'll have a fresh start regardless!
@Sunscript (question), @dejvid97 (question) - Things like this may be added, temporarily removed, and tweaked during testing as we implement and iterate on features and systems
@Tyranthraxus (question) - We do not have updates to share regarding this at this time
@Kilion (question) The answer is simply that this is a game in the early alpha stages of development, in which we are constantly tweaking things. Players may see the team add, temporarily remove, tweak, and generally (and hopefully) develop and improve systems throughout Alpha Two! There are also other factors worth mentioning that may play into different livestream recordings, such as which machine it's being recorded on
@OHEN (question) - Game masters (GMs) will be present and active in Ashes of Creation server realms. You can find the answer to your question, and many more here, on the wiki!
@ariatras (question) - Hi ariatras, I answered this question for ya last month. I'll copy+paste it here for ya! - Sure! This is done through the Essence, a metaphysical energy or life force that can be manipulated to create what could be viewed as magic. You can read all about the Essence here, on the wiki!
@Laetitian (question) - We don't have plans at this time to give developer statements justifying why each feature is designed the way it is, in-game.
Hm, then I hope the communication outside of the game will make up for it. I thought the intro to the alpha narrated by Margaret was pretty good at getting the idea behind the game loop across; more like that towards release would be greatly appreciated.
The only one who can validate you for all the posts you didn't write is you.

Hello! My apologies, I saw them as related because if I’m deleting a character or creating multiple to try different archetypes, I wasn’t sure how naming would work, especially if testers are creating characters with names we might want to reserve.
To my knowledge, neither question has been addressed, and they weren’t covered in your post here either. While I understand that asking more than one question might invalidate someone from being picked during the livestream, does that apply here too, even if both questions are still valid?

@Tel_Dagza (question) - Mounts bred through the animal husbandry system can be sold. Here is a link to the wiki going over this system: https://ashesofcreation.wiki/Breeding_mechanics
Apologies, I missed the answer. Didn't this time though, thanks!
To my knowledge, neither question has been addressed, and they weren’t covered in your post here either. While I understand that asking more than one question might invalidate someone from being picked during the livestream, does that apply here too, even if both questions are still valid?
