Glorious Alpha Two Testers!

Alpha Two Realms are now unlocked for Phase II testing!

For our initial launch, testing will begin on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 10 AM Pacific and continue uninterrupted until Monday, January 6, 2025, at 10 AM Pacific. After January 6th, we’ll transition to a schedule of five-day-per-week access for the remainder of Phase II.

    With all the advancements in AI is Intrepid planning to incorporate some into any of their gaming systems? Thinking perhaps a town cryer with the happenings of the server who gives witty responses off the cuff which hint to how its done. Many possibilities.

  • In addition to changing skills with augments when using the secondary archetype, why not add a couple of unique skills for each of the 64 classes so that each feels more unique and complete? For example, for the Bladecaller class, you could add a skill that summons blades flying at the target.

    You can attack anybody wherever you are.
    They have the choice to fight back, or to not fight back.

    If they fight back, they flag purple, and you've got your fight. You won't gain Corruption if you kill them, and you'll get the normal loot.
    If they don't fight back, and you carry on and kill them, you will gain Corruption, and you'll get extra loot.

    What will be the stance on add-ons? No doubt AOC's UI will (hopefully) have a good customization, but sometimes things can be missed and ideally a 3rd party add-on can fix that.

    Hello,

    I believe a lot of community members would like to know more information about curly, wavy, and thick hairstyles. So, will Ashes of Creation races/creatures feature hairstyles with short/long curly or wavy hair? Such as hairstyles influenced by Pacific Islanders, African American, Hispanic, or Multi-racial cultures. And, are we able to see some examples?

  • PvP & war: will there be consequence from participating in a war against a city? Exampel cant visit that city/auto flaged for pvp in its zone.

    Will others be able to interact with our pets or mounts, or pets and mounts be able to interact with the world in hilarious or silly ways? (That may or may not get us in trouble with locals?) I mean... it does not make much sense for a beast to just sit there while their master is taking FOREVER with sorting their pack... that beastie needs to get into some mischief due to the owner's lack of attention! I mean, what if I want to go pet the cool drake's nose? It should either love the attention or toast my hand a bit, don't you think?

    @xillin (question) - Yes, this is still the case! An example of an augment completely changing an ability, could be a ranged ability becoming a melee one, or vice versa, via an augment. You can hear Steven explain more of that here :)

    @Saiytama (question) - Much of what has been shown on stream is subject to change :) The streams are currently showcasing pre-Alpha 2 gameplay, which is not yet complete :)

    @Dolyem (question) - It's imperative to Steven and the team that decisions mean something and matter. We want the possibility of changing your class to exist, but we don't want this to be something players look to do regularly. We'll share more details regarding specific costs as we progress further in Alpha Two ^_^

    @LastCrystal (question) - Currently, there are no plans to have character movement increase on a per-level basis. Some archetypes or classes may acquire abilities that affect movement as they level up, but this wouldn't change the base/constant stat of movement, so to speak.

    @Sweatycup (question) - Ashes of Creation will not feature addons. Instead, we plan on providing a robust UI full of customization options for our players :)

    @Logan Snow (question) - Ashes of Creation will feature a robust UI, with many options and customization capabilities :)

    @OneEyedTiddy (question) - Ashes of Creation may certainly feature easter eggs of varying intrigue and difficult to find :)

    @Leviojima (question) - If you're looking for an Alpha Two date, we don't have one to share at this time. If you're interested in learning more about what the game will feature, or what features will be present in Alpha two, I recommend the wiki, which can be found here!

    @Shiromakoshi (question) - The plan is for weather and seasons to affect many aspects of gameplay, from spell and ability interactions to gatherables and more. The current plan does not account for players needing different gear for different climates, at this time. You can read more about our plans for climate gameplay here, on the wiki!

    @Blizzbub (question) - We know that having an extensive set of tools and information is important to our players. We aim to have the UI clearly and concisely provide important information to players. As we demonstrate more of our UI through development, we encourage players to provide their feedback so we can improve and iterate further where necessary :)

    @Sjeldon (question) - Mana is a universal energy and keeps corresponding stats for mana pool, consumption, and regeneration relevant. All archetypes will use mana, some more intense than others. Even pure melee players will use mana to manipulate The Essence for their extraordinary abilities. You can find a ton of information, including more on mana here, on the wiki!

    @Trenker (question) - There will likely be instructions and tutorials for Ashes of Creation! :)

    @Echuta (question) - Please stay tuned for more detailed information regarding archetypes as we progress further in development! :)

    @SnowFlakeZ (question) - Alpha-2 is known as the persistent alpha. Persistent means that the Alpha-2 servers will be kept up all day and night until launch. There will be downtime for patches. There may still be character and testing wipes. Alpha-2 servers will become the public test servers (PTS) post-launch that are used to test patches and updates.     @lemulet (question) - We'd love to explore more areas of development similar to the stream you're referring to in the future! :)

    @otterlysilly (question) - Players will be given the means to alter many aspects of their characters through the character creator. There will be limits, as to avoid ridiculous or unrealistic proportions, but players may likely except to alter the height and size of their character's bodies. :) You can read more on the character creator here, on the wiki!

    @Saltycarrots (question) - There may be some tensions between some races in the lore, but we will have to wait to find out more. ^_^
