Glorious Alpha Two Testers!

Alpha Two Realms are now unlocked for Phase II testing!

For our initial launch, testing will begin on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 10 AM Pacific and continue uninterrupted until Monday, January 6, 2025, at 10 AM Pacific. After January 6th, we’ll transition to a schedule of five-day-per-week access for the remainder of Phase II.

  • Will we be able to customise the ships in AoC? like types of cannons, the colour of the sails etc.
  • Will there be equipment (Either mundane or magical) for bulk harvesting of resources?
    Will we be able to hire NPCs to help with gathering or refining?
  • Will we be able to have NPCs on our freeholds, maybe just there to make it look lively, or by hiring an NPC merchant to sale your goods to visitors?
  • Will artisans be limited to crafting on their freeholds or will there be locations, in towns for example, for artisans to craft?
  • Can we get Drow for the UnderRealm race please?
  • Will I have to visit a trainer anytime I want to change my secondary, or will I be able to have two "builds" saved for various situation? For example: soloing pve vs pvp healing
  • How will Guild Castles interact with Village / City / Metropolis nodes if at all? Will their spheres of influence be allowed to overlap?
  • Can Villages / Cities / Metropolis be captured or do they have to be destroyed and rebuilt from scratch?
  • During the 2 day head start time period the node system will be disabled. Will this cause an issue with players 'consuming' content that would otherwise have counted toward node development?
  • Since Lazy Peon had too many good questions, I'll repost mine from the last podcast thread. I had kind of a not actual gameplay related inquiry. Moreso the social part.

    In regards to in game chat. What will the in game chat system be like? Will it be akin to somewhat of a /1 General /2 PVP /3 Trade etc model or more of a “/Yell in general area around you/ZOI” and “/Say in an even smaller area to anyone around you”?
  • With breeding in the game and the fact actions matter, is it possible that people can hunt a type of beast/monster so much, that it could go to near extinction on a server, thus having to help breed them back into high population?

    QUESTION: Regarding primary skills that are augmented, will there be any type of Skill Chain implementation?
    For example, Two class skills activated on same mob varying augments give bonus damage or cause additional elemental damage.

  • If you guys had to compare the vision that you have for your fully developed combat system to a current mmo’s combat system, which mmo would it be, and how would your combat distinguish itself from that mmo?
  • Will there be multiple religions in Ashes, and will there be incentives or some mechanic to create the 'meaningful conflict' between said religions that you are striving for with your PvP?
  • Will alts have a shared bank mechanism similar to EQ2? meaning each toon will have their own bank space, but there will be a few boxes that will be shared with the account. I am hoping this will be enabled.
  • Will leveling experience be primarily attained through quests, monster kills, or an intended combination of pve/pvp objectives?
  • After the game has been released for a significant amount time, will there be a point where there are no more vacant nodes for new players or small groups of veteran players who want to set out on their own?

  • Steven said something about possibly putting NPC Harvesters in as a Freehold option under the customizing
  • Grizzly They said that there will be more spaces besides freeholds tobe able to craft and we would be able to craft in living spaces because of the store set up
  • They stated it will be of a beast type but they didn't go into grave details yet. I hope they do soon tho :)
  • There are nodes throughout the whole map even on islands and underground They stated that if a node does not continue to level after a given time it will de-level and then disappear so maybe they will put new nodes in to discover to be able to re-start the process of leveling again.
  • My Question/Concern is if the population dwendles down to a point of not having enough on a server How will they condense servers down like most MMO's do if the nodes are on a progression level basis ? How would they move a node onto a different server if one exists on the server they are moving it to? I don't wanna lose progression on a node I worked hard on leveling.

    2) I craft an end game weapon. For example a long bow… Can I give that weapon a unique name (server unique name like character names) like “Heartseeker” ?? or will that weapon be named automatically like “Dragobone Longbow of Speed”.
    Because it would be soooo cool to hear people say:
    – Hey that guy has the legendary weapon Heartseeker!
    – Wow it is one from the set that the legendary Master “Trem” crafted hundreds of years ago… wow…

    I'd like to know what happens to a Freehold if the corresponding node is destroyed or de-leveled , do you lose the Freehold?
  • When can we expect to get more insight into the breeding /animal husbandry profession, like what sort of animals/mounts that can be bred any epic mounts (unicorns etc), and will it be a worthwhile profession in this game like the other crafting professions?

  • Will we be able to hold multiple housing? Suppose, I already have an in-node house. Can I still have a freehold in that node ZOI? Can I have freeholds in multiple nodes ZOI? If yes then, would I have to move from house to house to maybe collect revenue or will it be transferred directly to my char's wallet?
