    My pleasure @Superne <3
Your freaken all over the signatures lol.
Yup, I owe my thanks to Morriganna as well!

While I did make my previous sig, I much prefer the one she made. I'll continue to practice but it seems silly to not ask someone with way more experience (^^)

In Japan, we have an expression:
    餅は餅屋  もちはもちや mochi wa mochiya
Omochi is a type of rice cake.  We say it's best to leave the rice cake making to the omochi shops. In other words, "one should go to specialists for the best results."

I didn't realize you're in Japan.  Where, if I may ask.  It's OK if you'd rather not say.  I've lived in Japan twice for a total of 8 years.  As a child I lived in Fukuoka (Itazuke AB) and as an adult I lived in Okinawa (Kadena AB).  I loved getting out into the surrounding areas and experiencing Japanese & Okinawan culture.  I still love, and miss, Japan.  Every week @Isende and I go to our favorite Japanese cafe for some great udon (I also love curry), then we walk over to the Japanese market and do some shopping.  I've really developed a fondness for nigori style sake.  :)  It's like a little mini trip to Japan to get my fix.  If I could, I would happily live in Japan again.
Wow, you've lived in Japan for a long time in total  :o  You've been there longer than I have actually lol.  My hometown is Nagano prefecture but I've spent more time in Tokyo (and the Kantō region) than Nagano due to work. But, I've spent even more time than that in Canada, which is where I experienced the majority of my education (for better or for worse ... lol).

Nigori is one of my favorite sake styles as well. At first, I was put off by the cloudy look but one should never judge by appearance alone. That stuff is amazing.

Glad to hear you like Japan. I hope you have another chance to visit and/or live here :)

  • That new sig looks like you'll have to get the leader of men package if you haven't already gotten it. Haha.
Omg I know but it's so expensive lol. I'm sitting on Braver of World EB but I'm legitimately debating to upgrade to Leader of Men (T.T)
  • I may not have the coolest signature but it is meaningful to me. I have the same poster above my desk, it was given to me by a Sony rep. back when it first launched. Its the original launch poster for EQ. The game was also preloaded on all Sony computers back in the day. (I was a computer tech back when EQ launched). Every time I see it... it just makes me smile.
  • How do you guys like my new Sig? I based it off the one @Morriganna made me but added a bit more color and made the box a wizard!
  • Do I get food for this?
  • Give me likes Dark Souls fans.
  • @zenpai no, I don't think you get how this works, you pay ME in food to join the club.

Nigori is amazingly versatile in what you can pair it with.  We have it with our sushi and with our dessert.  The Japanese market we go to sells desserts that are made in the same style as you find in Japan.  Pleasant flavor, not TOO sweet (compared to desserts here in the US).  Their bakery/cafe is awesome.

I would love to go back to Japan and take @Isende with me.  She's never been and really wants to go.  I'd like to learn more Japanese than the few basic phrases I know.  I've known some spoken phrases since I was a child.  For example:

    ちょっと待ってください
    どうもありがとうございました
    おはようございます
    こんにちは
And one I use as much as the others...

    わかりません

Google Translate is my friend.  :D

I started trying to self study and was doing OK.  But I've slacked off.  It's kinda fun testing my memory with Hiragana and Katana exercises.  I started dabbling in Kanji, but man is that hard.  lol
  • Where my signature comes from. I am not sure how many were Diablo 3 fans. Tyreal's sacrifice...
Once the Archangel of justice...his fall. I have made a great many sigs off of this scene right here. It's great....to me, anyway

  • @SaeyoPrayers not sure if i'd call myself a fan but I definitely have a lot of hours on the game. I recognized it right away. When I played this with my girlfriend I remember saying to her "why the $%&^ can't I be that guy? he's way more badass!"
  • Thanks @Kumary for updating my signature...again ;):*
  • @Possum; Yeah, kanji is tough but I wouldn't worry about it too much.

You mentioned Google Translate. Their smartphone app is quite powerful now as you might already know. You can just scan kanji with your smartphone's camera and it'll translate everything for you.

With crowd-sourced user data and A.I. advancements making translation devices and software so much better, I think people's motivation for learning a secondary language will soon become just about the cultural element. They'll still need to study languages themselves if they want to see the world a little differently by being able to articulate and express concepts that they weren't aware of in their native languages. Examples include the ability to understand concepts such as wabi-sabi and itadakimasu.

    ************************************************

I agree about the sweets. I can't handle the sugary stuff in NA but I love the creamy and custardy kind of sweets.

Anyway, we need a thread about language and food once an off topic section is created! Let's continue over there once it's made :)  I mean there is the ability to PM but it's nice to have threads where other people can join for a broader discussion.

It's cool to me that you have a sig which means something to you  B)

And, by the deities, your sig makes me feel so much nostalgia!  EQ was my first MMO and I'll never forget it. I dunno if it's a good thing but EQ was probably what locked me into the gamer life for the long term lol.
  • I adore my signature :3 it suits me to a T xD again thanks @Buckles and @lexmax for being awesome xD

Yep same here, EQ was the first time I stopped playing single player games on a regular basis. If something great came out then ofc I would play it with the aim of completing it asap so I could return to the persistent universe, but I've never been one to have multiple games on the go since EQ. Today' it's more about time than anything for me unfortunately but the social aspect of MMORPGs has been truly stimulating.

I was a fan of the Diablo franchise until D3. I enjoyed D3 when I played through the first time. It was just things like the itemization, auction house, excessive RNG systems, etc. that soured the D3 experience for me from vanilla to the expansion.

Still, the Diablo universe and lore are awesome. From what I saw in a Rhykker video, it looks like a D4 ARPG or a World of Diablo MMO is in the works. I'll give the Diablo franchise one last chance when it comes out and then I'll probably part ways with it if they disappoint again.

Anyway, any angelic character from the Diablo universe is usually pretty badass. My favorite is Imperius but Tyrael is cool too!

Thank you my fellow bearded one! There's certainly of plethora of quality sigs on these boards. :)
  • Everquest is what got me hooked too. I mean, I started out on other games, but EQ is what did it for me. I was so sad to move to wow. I didn't have much of a choice though. The game, including my guild (Test of Time) basically emptied upon launch. I tried to stay. Would put up my LFG tag and go afk for hours while watching movies without a single whisper. Ugh
I actually re-downloaded it not too long ago. I got my paladin to level 21 before I called it quits.

I was never a huge fan, but I do love the lore. The story line was great and kept me interested enough to keep me going. Lol I always liked angelic characters, of any sort. Especially if they are adorned for war.

I remember the images from old issues of computer gaming world/pc gamer. It got me very intrigued with the idea of MMORPGs.
  • Kratz the smoke looks great
  • I absolutely adore @Kratz 's new sig!  @Kumary you did a great job but I really wish you would go back to your other sig it was my all-time favorite.

EQ, was my fix for real life D&D; it was my gateway drug to MMORPGs; and here I am on the forums getting my fix for Ashes.
