I've meet 12 year olds who are more mature than some adults I've met so.
/sarcam off
Great example was obviously a joke.
[23:19] Will the character screen be inspected by others?
As the quote also doesn't indicate, no one said DPS/Gearscore/Linkable Elitism "won't happen", as they're willing to create "Option." in every case.
Not to mention, you can create a criteria from everything. Even level itself is a criteria. People can form their party group with 90 lvl players to a 80lvl dungeon, thinking they'll raid and finish it faster. So what, Intrepid Studio shall remove levels? I've played games with no DPS meter at all, and this indeed happened. It's not like 80lvls cannot do it, but they don't want to run the dungeon slow. Or people can put criteria around skills, like if you are cleric and doesnot have X skill to support the team, you gone. Happened to the supporter characters in an asian MMORPG I've played, society literally forced us to unlock a skill that some supporters didn't want to. So what would be then, should they erase particular classes and skills? I've also suffered from elitists group in many mmorpgs, but that doesn't mean their freedom of choice should be taken away for the newbies. If it's not letting this to be happenning, then the game should be easy, which ironically every person disagrees including the "I don't want No DPS meter" people.
I don't think I need to repeat myself and my opinion, it's all in that other topic.
> I don't want Ashes to have only raid type content for max level players.
As for the recent criteria that "could" exist without a DPS meter, I'm not seeing why it wouldn't exist with one. Are you suggesting that if IS gives players a DPS than that would be the only requirement "elitist" use?
Ridiculous grinding. I just quit FFxiv for this. FFxiv is a beautiful but has no balance for grinding.
Cash grab cons. Scheming tactics just to generate cash. WoW and rift were horrendous for this. One expansion WoW generated the need to server transfer just to progress. Rift had too many to name.
Bad support in game. FFxiv support for English speaking players is terrible.
Latency. latency concerns is a deal breaker for many players.
Compulsory pvp. Creating schemes that enforce PVP play to progress. PVP should be a voluntary thing. I don't want it to be come a necessary grind.
Server transfer fees. People transfer servers mostly because of game concerns. Server transfer fees are just a fine for being in the wrong place at the right time.
i don't want to see political correctness to the point you're afraid to say anything at all in chat. there's enough people being attacked in real life without having that happen here, and it goes on all walks of life.
at the same time, i don't want to see an ignorant community. just blocking the person that's offensive isn't good enough, because it does filter through all players. i don't believe we should be censored, but i certainly don't believe we should only rely on devs and ignore the issues at hand. a community that stands for something is always better, so no censorship, and community policing done by community. just because we aren't silenced, doesn't mean we have to tolerate it as well.
allowing people to talk freely can make interesting conversations, and we can make sure that players don't just become toxic and abuse everyone ourselves.
Hand holding mechanics past newbie locations.
Nerfing any player skills/abilities that are not bugged or game breaking. In reality, imbalance promotes innovation and progress. I would like to see imbalance approached in a positive manner, with in game solutions rather than just editing abilities. Stun locks countered by an item invented, or new skill developed, rather than just killing the skills effectiveness.
Instant Fast travel. I like the idea of buying passage on a caravan and not having to walk yourself, but it should still take time. During such a trip you could craft, or socialize, etc.
Absolute Safe zones. There should be safe locations, with guards and other measures in place to keep people honest, but if someone were to take sufficient steps it should be possible to attack, kill, or Rob anyone, in any location... With the possible exception of an inn or personal or guild housing... although... no... I'd rather it still be possible, just exponentially harder to accomplish and much harder to survive. I love the presence of risk and danger. The less civilized the location, the more risk, but greater possible rewards.
Dropped loot being better than highest possible level of crafted gear.
I'm sure there's more, but that's what I have for now.
oh well.
I, absolutely, do not want, to be called "the chosen one" or anything similar, by npcs.
I will smack the tool that does.
