  • Just saw discord messages that its likely game will be region locked. RIP us EU members.
  • Read up on my.com now and I am really concerned on how my.com has handled important information such as bank account numers and so on before. How can you make a choice like this Interprid? It kinda made me feel like backing the project was both premature and a bad mistake from my part.

Hope I am mistaken too.  Especially since I am in NA guild and will have to decide if VPN is worth the effort in that case.

At first I thought this was some early April fools joke. I feel sorry for the EU players. I see no good reason to choose my.com as publisher. We all know that once a game goes to my.com it goes downhill almost immediately. These guys are ravenous wolves.

    Say no to my.com! 👎

Interesting. I saw a direct quote from Steven stating that there will be no region lock.

Of course, nothing is 100% guaranteed, as we all know. But the latest communication from Steven made it clear that Steven was making freedom of movement a core issue with My.com.

So unless you have a solid source, please stop with the rumour-mongering.

Did some digging and quotes state "I dont think we are planning on IP blocks. No I do not think we are. Yeah" to "There is no definitive answer. It is very possible that there will not be a region lock" and "So the answer to your question at this moment I dont know, but its very possible, and I say likely there wont be region lock." (Accidentally miss read as likely  will be region lock when posting my  old comment)

Which indicate chance of stance from no region lock to possibly region lock.
Does Mail.ru get any pull in the matter? if anyone knows would appreciate the info.
  • I know there was a Statement in which  Intrepid says they stay in charge of the Content and so on. BUT is there a detailed Elaboration as of why they Chose my.com ?

I cant imagine it is because of the Money, so why ?

Also, I am not really fond in european Publishers but judging by my.com's existing games and other people's reactions they dont appear like 1st choice to me. I would love to see a comparison to other Publishers and finally, what lead Intrepid to choose my.com
    According to what I've heard around the last day or two, the MAIN reasons include;
    1. Self publishing in the EU is WAAAAYYY to complex and expensive.
    2. After approaching many other publishers only My.com/Mail.Ru agreed to the terms Intrepid outlined (I think releasing the contract to the community would ease this tension a little IMO).
    3. Steven is adamant on a global release which again. only these publishers agreed it.
    4. If they were to self publish it could take too long to deliver to the EU and make it incredibly delayed.

IMO i think the best thing to do considering all this backlash is to find a loophole in the contract to get out of it, then raise an OFFICIAL POLL to see if the EU don't mind waiting longer than everyone else.
I don't know the publishers personally and I am not in the EU but to be fair all I've seen is bad, and I don't think this will help bring more consumers into the mix. I hope this all blows over and we do not lose any players just because of a silly thing as choosing this publisher over others.
IF ANYONE KNOWS ANY OTHER PUBLISHER REACH OUT TO THEM! LOL
    <3 to all the community
  • A few days ago I saw action combat and thought this game has hope again.

Today I read my.com will be the publisher... Better give it to AeriaGames then if you don't care about your game.

Or maybe you just don't care about EU at all to self publish it?
  • Are any of you tech savy and have a legitimate argument of why publishing the game's COSMETICS and hosting would have anything to do with all the bullshit you'll have so quickly conjured up? ITS NOT GOING TO BE PAY TO WIN. How some of you suddenly evolve to this scenario because of publishing rights being given is beyond me. The fact that you have turned your back on them so quickly shows the amount of intelligence you have. Blowing up about it isn't going to help you or the team.

Maybe you do some research before you make assumptions on the intelligence of others because it may not reflect well on your own mental capabilities if you don't.
Main concerns are about security issues, customer support, server performance, localization and the overall impression of Intrepid pairing up with my.com outside of the glorious Ashes community.

The main reason people are worried is that the services that my.com tend to provide are absolute shit, if they have no creative control they cant make the game p2w obviously.

To be fair, I have heard a lot of people complaining about My.com's P2W legacy. I've never heard any details about how My.com forced any such game to become P2W, however.

It is an interesting issue, but one in which very few people seem well informed.
  • Noooooo, please, not mail.ru
Russian game community hate this company  :'(
  • @Armatur
Apart from IS self publishing, who else publishes MMO's in Russia?

    Innova, GameNet, Destiny, 101XP.
    Destiny - best Russian publisher(imho)
    Mail.ru - biggest and worst.
  • I just red the Introduction from my.com. It blew my mind away :dizzy:

  • The concern are not just p2w, they seem to be very irresponsible with just about any aspect of an MMO.  My own biggest concern is the account security and performance.  If this is an action combat mmo, than positioning and mobility are going to be very important, and if that is going to be messed up then a major part of the game will look and feel broken upon release.

And that's not even going into real life concerns of account information being leaked to hackers or malware/virus on the computer. No MMO is worth that.
  • Reading the wiki on mail.ru was quite interesting. I can see the monopoly now👎🤝👍
