The developers quite literally didn't look at suggestions from outside for that game, all they paid attention to was the feedback (see my post above about the difference between feedback and suggestions). However, with the amount of suggestions they did receive from various avenues, there is literally nothing that could have been added to the game that *someone* didn't suggest at some point.

The only exception to this in BG3 was in regards to story writing - which is not within the perview of a game developer/designer, but rather that of writers. I do not personally know any game writers, so am not willing to get in to a discussion on how much or how little they take from the community, other than to state that it is more than game developers.

I assume you work. I do not assume you have the level of education or experience that the average develoepr at Intrepid have, however, I assume you have some.

If you are going about your day, doing your job that you know how to do, that you have experience in, if some random person walks in off the street and starts telling you how to do your job that you know perfectly well how to do, how are you going to react?

That is what suggestions are. It is you thinking you can do the developers job better than they can, despite their experience and education on the matter.

It really isn't me that has the issue between the two of us, my friend.

Again you are not as clever as you think you are, you do love to believe you are that is for sure, been very clear. You must have some sort of complex of 'being always right' a sense of superiority complex or narcissistic personality disorder. If you want to use "other games do it" as a reason why Intrepid should do something, then you need to accept that same defense when other people make that same argument The problem is, those "other games" include games like WoW.

Ashes is not trying to be other games - it is trying to be Ashes. One of the things is that means is that the cast majority of items (gear, consumables, mounts, ships etc) will be player made. Sure, "other games" that are not this game may have done this differently, but they are other games.

Here we are once again as the typical know it all aka im the one right in here and i know better.

And in truth i come here to give feedback aka suggestions/ideas which that is exactly what feedback is for (imagine) not exactly to argue with individuals that clearly do not show to possess much of a brain...

I'm sure you've seen me making this argument in the past, it comes down to a societal lack of respect for expertise. It's a wider issue than just a handful of posters on an MMORPG forum.

Lack of respect for the expertise of others is why - among other things - we have a flat earth society. These people do not respect the expertise of people that are actually experts on various subjects, and are unable to understand the evidence when those experts lay it out for them.

Those people very much have a concept of "if I don't understand it, no one could".

It's the same with people offering suggestions to experts. Such people have the perspective of "of course I know what I'm talking about", regardless of their level of u derstanding of the topic at hand.

People here suggesting mechanics from faction based PvP games is as clear and obvious an example of this that is can imagine. It seems obvious that it would work to the uneducated, yet obvious that it won't work to the educated.

As someone that has become an expert on two difference topics - to the point where local news outlets approach me for comment when there is a local story related to those topics - I will obviously always advocate for the value of expertise, and even moreso in relation to Ashes where some of those experts are friends of mine.

The big issue Ashes has is that the person running the show is not an expert in anything. This does leave the whole company as giving off the appearance of a lack of expertise, despite the fact that Intrepid have one of the most stacked MMORPG development teams ever assembled.

Fact is, if Steven had have hired Jeff in 2017, given him an outline for the game and told him to go and do it, and then left him to it, the game would have released 1 or 2 years ago.

You keep asking questions, i keep answering them, and you keep ignoring those answers.

All you are proving is that you have no expertise at all in anything, because gaining that level of ability or understanding in any field leaves people with a clear respect for the expertise of others.
