Issues with referral program / referrals link
Ashes of Creation Referral Program
We have received multiple inquires related to the referral link and GUI / Dashboard. I am consolidating those requests here for tracking purposes.
Q: Help! My referral clicked my link but I can't see it. Can you help?
-
A:
Unfortunately, our current system does not allow us to track
referrals beyond what you see yourself. As a result, we also do not
have a way to manually fix a referral if it did not take. Please
note that we know for sure that if the referral uses an ad blocker
or cookie blocker on their browser, the referral will not track. We
are looking into upgrading our Referral system, however we don't
currently have any details on what this will change in that regard,
if anything.

Heya Tailoy, that is correct. As long as they came in under that link, it will track the referral. There isn't a special branded page it brings you to, it'll just be the home page. The difference is at the top of the web browser, in the address bar, it will have the referral link. To double check if the referral went through, log in to the site and go to https://www.ashesofcreation.com/refer/?tab=referrals.
Edit: It coud be an idea that when making your account, you could set your referrer there. That is if a lot of people have this problem.

I think it uses cookies that are DLd by your friend's browser. I'm not sure
So the question at hand becomes, is the only solution or work around for this creating new accounts?
they didn't authenticate their account - they have cookies blocked - they are using a private browser signing up to the site using the same computer might of been a issue as well as previously stated by Wishsdark
