Issues with referral program / referrals link

    So I am grateful to have found Ashes of Creation and immediately began telling my friends. One quickly clicked my https://www.ashesofcreation.com/ref/Astud21/ This friend did register, yet I do not see it under the Refer & win and the referrals tab: "You have not made any referrals yet." Under the Visits: "You have not received any visits yet." He said that when he clicked the link it showed my ref/Astud21 and then when he subscribed it no longer showed that. Did we do something wrong or can it be added manually?

    I reported this to Steven a little while ago, and it is being looked into. The only legitimet cause for this would be if it came from the same IP.

    Have a look <a href="https://www.ashesofcreation.com/refer/?tab=referrals">here</a> and it should show how many people have been linked to your account.

    They are looking at implementing an easier way to ensure referral upon registration.

    Howdy!! This seems to be a big controversial!!! The site will soon be getting a upgrade probably after the kickstarter has ended and I assume theses fixes will be address Hopefully it will be soon so just tell ya friend to be patient for a bit longer

    That would make sense, It was my room mate who signed up. The others just most not have signed up yet who are not on the same IP.

    So, I had another friend sign up from a different IP and it showed up. Looks to confirm the same IP issue.

    Currently there is no way to add a referral after they have made a account. he will need to delete his account and create a new one using your link

    i wanted to change my forum name but could not so i had to create a new account for the name i wanted. is there any way i can transfer referees i have obtained from one account to another?  please and thank you.

    Not currently, but they mentioned that it might be possible later on. They are apparently working on a system where you can "sign over" your referals.

    sadly no you cannot transfer referrals, or have a name change.

    I would defo say speak to an admin, or get an ETA on the time it will take. likely will be up and running before the game.

    Hi,

    Im one of the moderators of GoodGuysGaming G+ community and always post the twitch, news and footage to our group to share and provide my referrals link.

    On 1-June a member confirmed they had backed Ashes with my referral link.  However, I see no statistic increase reflecting the URL from the G+ page or a conversion, is tracking working correctly still?

    What if they KS back directly on the Kickstarter Page but don't realise they have to create an account.  Thus we/I get no referral benefit, can this happen?

    Would providing the account name created on the statistics page be possible to allows to investigate these issues ourselves with known backers who state they used our links?

    Thanks for the great work and continued Twitch interviews and footage, cant wait to help test in the betas.

    Name changes might be possible in the future but i don't think you will be able to transfer referalls

    I'm having this same issue.  I'd like to give them credit as I never would've found this game without them.  But if I delete my account will I still get my name/email or will it be locked out?

    That's exactly what I did and it worked for me. Perhaps it's better for @Shunex to confirm before you do but it worked for me.

    So this topic has popped up a few times from different people.  I just wanted to ask a question of my own I didn't see answered and post a few of the answers I found helpful.

    My Question - I've read you can delete and remake an account with the same name, but I want to make sure you can use the same email too.  I have a gaming email and I don't want to have to use my personal or work email just because I forgot to refer my friend.
    A. Your email won't be locked, you can use the same email.  Be sure to give it 5 minutes or so after deletion in order for your email to be used again

    Other helpful and answered questions -
    Q. Does the referred person get something or just the person that sent the referral.
    A. Only the referral gets 15% on purchases of the referred

    Q. If I delete my account to make a new one so I can use my friends link, will I get to keep my name?
    A. Yes.  Again, make sure you give it a few minutes after deleting your account so you can use your same information

    Q. Can I transfer referrals if I create a new account?
    A. No

    My friend just did this and had to wait 5 minutes for the server to recognize his email/name wasn't being used.  So just give it a minute for anyone else trying this solution out

    in the past people who have done it have reported it was available  instantly after the account was deleted.

    I had issues recovering my username using the same email that I had originally registered with.  I ended up having to make a dummy account with a new email address and use the username that I wanted with that dummy account.  Then, I deleted the dummy account and remade my original account.  At that point, I could use the same email/username combination.

    Is there any way to link a financially challenged friend's referral link to my account after it's already been created? MMOs are always more fun with friends, but only if they can afford to play, so I'd like to help them out. You know the feel.
    I'm also wondering if it's possible to change my account username.

    You cannot change your reffer after you have made your account, and the only way to change your account username is via deleting your account and creating it again. there may be a different way in the future but for now thats all we got.
