Issues with referral program / referrals link

Hi I just signed up on your site a few days ago, saw the kickstarter and was happy to pledge money to your game. I have only just realised that you have a referral program, is is possible to add me as a referral to Deltia https://www.ashesofcreation.com/ref/Deltia/ I know I could just create a brand new account from the referral link but would prefer not to. Deltia has done so much for Elder Scrolls Online that I would like to pass on any benefits I can to him when he comes to play Ashes of Creation. Thanks

Hi, Yesterday I referred a friend and it's showing up under the referrals tab. Today I referred another friend and it's not showing up? Not sure if this is a bug in the system or there a huge delay in updating the data? Thanks

I'm so sorry, Weolo. Our current referral software doesn't allow us to retroactively adjust a referral. The best you could do is create a new account that comes in under Deltia's referral tag. Sorry! :(

Hello, I was so exited to help KS the game from watching the video..... I forgot to look through the FAQs and forums first. Is it possible for me to pick a fine member of the community and give them credit for my KS choice that I already chose?

As far as I'm aware, there is no way to select a referrer once you have already made your account. You would have to make a new account

Are you in the statistics page? I'm experiencing the same issue there.

Try looking <a href="https://www.ashesofcreation.com/refer/?tab=referrals">here</a>, it'll show you how many people are registered with your referral

Yeah that's exactly where I'm looking.. it shows the first one but not the person who registered yesterday... please tell me this isn't bugged or I won't be referring anyone else :/

I'm having the same issue. I signed up for my husband and know that I 100% used the link. It's not showing up for me at all.

Apparently it might be something to do with cookies or adblock but I'm pretty certain she doesn't block cookies or use adblock so .. I don't know. I'm trying to get in contact with someone higher up but there's no official email link. If it doesn't work then I won't bother referring anyone else :/

It might be a problem with the update of the page, as you might have noticed these categories are quite new. And also a part of the forum update, the already stated that they are having some problems with the transition. But it still sucks :/

Sorry BatchElder69 but our current setup does not allow us to retroactively adjust a referrer.

There are additional options such in <a href="https://www.ashesofcreation.com/refer/" target="_blank">https://www.ashesofcreation.com/refer/</a>, including <a href="https://www.ashesofcreation.com/refer/?tab=stats" target="_blank">Statistics</a> and <a href="https://www.ashesofcreation.com/refer/?tab=referrals" target="_blank">Referrels</a>. Hi S7ewie, we've grown PRETTY big in a short amount of time. Sorry for the delay. Currently, users who are blocking cookies or using some kind of ad blocker (some browsers come standard with this feature), your referral will not be accepted. We also don't have a way to retroactively apply a referral or manually adjust referrals in any way. We are looking into a more robust referral system but it's not being used right now.

So that's it? It can't be fixed? In the last 3 days I've mangaged to convince 2 of my friends to sign up but one of them doesn't count?

Well I guess I won't be referring anyone else then until the system is sorted out :/

2 of my friends have used my referral link and it didn't work, would deleting their account let them use my link to make a new account with the same username and email, using my referral link? also having some issues with the info on my referrals page; 2 people have signed up, while only 1 person is shown as converted, though i know 2 people have indeed signed up through my link (with cookies on, and 2 differant pc's in 2 locations)

From what I understand referral links should only be tied with accounts meaning that you should be able to duplicate the effect with another account. Make sure that your link is the last one that they use and that they also have cookies enabled. Also make sure that you are checking the referral status in the <a href="https://www.ashesofcreation.com/refer/?tab=referrals">correct place</a>.

What is your recommended fix at this time? Is the only workaround telling all my friends to create new accounts? Or will we be able to retroactively apply a referral once the system gets ironed out?

Hello, I referred a friend who signed up with my referral link in from of me and it didnt take, after checking for two days. Is this suppose to happen? It says there was traffic but no coversion

It's being experienced by multiple people. I personally have more registered users shoing up in "referrals" than in "statistics"

I asked Steven about it and this is what he said;

So will we be able to get the people we referred to add us as their referee or by the time this is implemented will they have had their account for too long and it will be too late?

Yea, that's pretty much what it comes down to. If they can add it on later than I have nothing to worry about and we can sort it out then.

If not, it really dampens my willpower to refer people when 100% of my current referrals aren't being counted.

Yeah. Post referral systems I've used in the past only give you something like 7 days to refer someone after making the account .. So if they go with that sort of thing then will everyone reset on the same date or will everyone we've already attempted to refer be long past that deadline?

Yeah. I definitely have no reason to talk to my friends about making an account now.
