Outdated and no plan to keep it going with search functions becoming better and more consistent



Inherent problem with forums, not saying this will be the solution but it might help prevent ever so rarely a doublepost. This is a first draft of the "General discussion" forum. It's just a rough gathering for now to decide on more specific topic groups, topic group ordering and so on.
Suggestions, pointing out mistakes(I just noticed I apparently linked one topic wrongly) and stuff encouraged.

Free form discussions (random/unconfirmed concepts, what ifs, shoulds, hopes, your favourite etc.)

This is based on the premise of the topic creator. If it heavily shifts during the discussion, people inform with confirmed information, it might be in the upper one. I haven't read every single topic extensively so feel free to tell me when it should fall in a different category.

2nd one is the vast majority atm so if the split isn't there assume it's free form styled discussion

So after having waded through (hopefully) everything, one of my first mayor thought issues on categorizing is: Doublepost or not?
Meaning if something fits into multiple categories, should it be present in all of them or not.
Example: Mounting corrupt animals, it's mount related, but also profession taming related.
Have it in both? The first category scrolling down only?

While I'm flattered to have my discussions included, I fear it's a little unnecessary to have so much on here. I personally would restrict it to FAQ type threads, rather than listing literally everything.

That said, the easy solution to this would be for Intrepid to officially recognise one of the community-built wiki and put links to it on both the forums and the website. That would solve a lot of the problems with double posts.

This is a phenomenal that I can tell that you really spent some time on. This is a wonderful addition to the forums that will certainly help newcomers. Especially since info about ashes can be hard at times. May I suggest that my forum post be added. I give the newcomers lots of vital stuff in it.

100 % This. I think its really bad that the wiki mentions the game has nine races but the website does not. Whats worse is that is only the beginning of the lack of info on the website. Toast has mentioned that they are working on it. But this would be a great band aid solution until they get the website up to snuff. Whenever that will be.

@wanderingmist Trust me, I already cut down on things for various reasons and I might slim it down more. I just haven't read literally everything. In the end it's an overview and search function addition to check if a discussion of "that" sorts already happened.
For example: Things like hopes and thoughts for crafting will most likely disappear once we have an actual crafting example.

@wildpancakes875 done. One of the few threads I had a bit of trouble with where to put, but yeah no reason too not have it at all atm.

Not a fan of bumping but looking at the wide array of reposts and assumptions that have been cleared up ages ago, I'll just do it anyway. Probably won't help, but who knows.
